Scorer: Ranjith P | Commentator: Ankur Dhawan

Right, it's an unassailable one-nil lead for West Indies and a win for Kieron Pollard in his 500th T20 match. We'll be back for the second T20I on Friday. Until then, this is Ankur Dhawan signing off on behalf of Andrew Fernando.

Kieron Pollard: Total team effort, Oshane Thomas brilliant, he has been doing hard work back home and it's showing. We had an unsung hero in Rovman Powell with the ball late in the innings. I'll tell you our plan to Kusal Perera after the next game, he's obviously their mainstay.

Lasith malinga: After ODI tournament, the team had good confidence. Unfortunately we lost five wickets very early, those wickets were very crucial, we didn't get partnerships in the top order. We are a young unit, I think we'll learn and deliver in the next match.

Oshane Thomas is the player of the match

Sri Lanka fall short but they go down fighting. A commendable recovery after Oshane Thomas' opening burst left them tottering. Short, fast, sometimes erratic but mostly nasty, Thomas pretty much killed the chase (or at least should have) in the Powrplay with a five-for, and strangely did not return to bowl his final over. Spare a thought for Kusal Perera, Sri Lanka's miracle man. His outrageous knock kept Sri Lanka in the hunt when they had no business doing so - with excellent support from Hasaranga - but once Andre Russell castled him with an inch-perfect yorker, there was far too much left to do for the tail. That's a sixth straight T20I loss for Sri Lanka.

Cottrell to Malinga, OUT, cleans him up and that's pretty comfortable in the end, it was a length ball angled in from around the wicket, Malinga swung all around it and missed but the ball didn't miss the stumps. West Indies go one-up
