England 1-0 up in the three match series. The second ODI comes around after a day's break. Meanwhile, you can check out some Test cricket action where South Africa are dominating. There's PSL too to satiate your T20 hunger. From Matt, Chandan and myself, good night, goodbye and take care!

8:01pm Time for the presentation.

Tamim Iqbal: "I thought the position we were in, we should have scored at least 30-35 more. It was a good wicket for spinners. We started well and lost three back to back wickets. This wicket 250 is gettable. We were going like that. Bowling unit bowled well, we fielded well and fought extremely well. Have to give it to Malan. We tried everything in our bowling option. Whenever the wicket was there, we kept catchers in. Proud of the bowlers the way they bowled. Have to credit one man, Malan."

Dawid Malan, player of the match: "Spent a fair bit of time in Bangladesh, especially at this ground. Told Jos it would have been tough to chase if they'd have got 30-40 more. Don't think you can knock the target with two down on this surface. We had a few 30-40 run partnerships and that helped wrest back the game. You know they have a lot of spin. Satisfying to get over the line, handling pressure is part of the job. Rashid has got 10 FC hundreds, as he reminds everyone. He has got good technique."

Jos Buttler: "We are delighted to win. Spoke a lot about conditions before the match. These are tough conditions. Malan's innings is an example for us on how to play on these wickets. There was plenty on the wicket for both spinners and pacers. We gave away too many extras, didn't hit the lengths early. But dragged them back. There's plenty of areas to work and improve. It's about small partnerships on wickets like these."

7:51pm England take honours in the opening game of their Bangladesh tour and a certain Malan has to be credited for it. Of course, after giving due laurels the bowlers' way who first restricted Bangladesh to 209. It is not easy to chase a 200-plus score in Bangladesh and seemed that it will be the case again today. Save for Malan, all other batters were done in by the smart, disciplined bowlers. Taijul picked up three, Mehidy returned two and they applied the squeeze on the opposition through the middle overs. But Malan, despite struggling initially, kept his calm, didn't think a lot about the rippers and then gained confidence by spending time in the middle. His fourth ODI ton ensured England start the series on the right note.

John M: "Malan before Jacks got out - 44 off 79. After Jacks got out - 70 off 66. great pace of innings, and demonstrating the reward for patience when chasing a small target."
