The ICC ODI Super League is officially over. Bangladesh will finish on No. 3 on the points table. Ireland will go to Zimbabwe for the qualifiers. The ODI format's future might have commercial and maybe even existential concerns but this series has demonstrated that its ability to breathe life into the game is still in tact. It was a brilliant game, thanks for joining. Goodbye from me, Ekanth, my co-commentator Sudarshanan, our scorers, Binoy George and Chandan Duorah, our photographer in chief, Andrew Miller, who'll also be writing about the game. Mohammad Isam's report is in, check it out.

Tamim goes to his team-mates, who lift the Silverware. Mehidy took a picture with the trophy, team-mates join for a group picture. Ebadot and Hasan are among the players take turns with the trophy for pictures.

Tamim Iqbal, Bangladesh Captain: Until the 40th over, I had no idea he'd bowl. I brought on Shanto because Miraz bowled so well. There was a bigger side, it wasn't easy to hit. He did fantastic. Him becoming an allrounder would be great. If I tell you we had the believe we'd win, I'd be lying. But cricket is a funny game, wickets fall and scoreboard pressure is bad to have. When the Fizz got two wickets, we thought we had a chance. I think Ireland are a quality side, they need to play more in different conditions and do better. They do well here, need to come to Asia and do well there too. If you have a good bowling attack, it's easier to captain. Very happy with our fast-bowling unit. One or two are injured but we still have a solid bowling attack. I thought it's not just Chelmsford but wherever we go, our crowd have outnumbered the opposition, they have been great.

Najmul Hossain Shanto, POTS: No, I just followed my process. I practised a lot with Herath and things came off. The captain had told me I'll bowl, Miraz helped me a lot while bowling. I followed his instructions. I didn't ask for the ball today but have asked him to bowl me. I try to follow Mehidy's action but can't follow it properly. The first hundred is more special, I hope I can continue my batting form. It feels very nice to have had the crowd. They come everywhere we play, grateful to have them. I'm still not an allrounder but Tamim probably now believes I can bowl.

Mustafizur Rahman, POTM: (Tamim Iqbal comes in to translate his speech) I've been doing this for a long time, so I'm habituated to these situations. Yesterday, he was thinking he'd get five wickets. It feels like home playing here, thanks to everyone for coming here. Upon being asked how he'll spend the money, he says he'll go shopping.

Andy Balbirnie, Ireland Captain: Very frustrating. We were going well and then we lost wickets, momentum shifted. We needed to bat better, especially at the qualifier. It's the harshest place to learn this lesson. 100% we thought we could get it but lost those wickets after being in control. We've played a lot of games in these atmospheres, we just need to be harsh on ourselves. One of us had to stay in and score a 100 and clear things. Things have been great at Chelmsford.

Kevin: "Brilliant atmosphere at Chelmsford for the games that have been played. ODIs are not dead and a credit to both sides and the supporters for making it the spectacle it has been."

Mak: "I feel sorry for Ire."

6:56pm: The final World Cup Super League is a thriller that hands Bangladesh a 2-0 series win. Players take a lap of honour to acknowledge the fans, who have provided constant support in a home away from home. Yet another close loss for Ireland, hard not to call it a choke. They needed 51 off nine overs with seven wickets in hand. Then Shanto's first over, the 42nd of the innings, accounted for Harry Tector's wicket. Tector took the positive option when he was tied down but he couldn't do it at that point and then the Fizz took over and he couldn't be put back in the bottle. There were a couple of paddles that cost Ireland big: wickets of Tucker and Adair went to Bangladesh as bonuses. Shanto bowled three overs in the final ten overs, gave away ten runs and got the match-changing wicket.

Hasan: "Is there an appetite for three or four more IPL like tournaments, or for more bilateral ODIs?"

Hasan Mahmud to Young, no run, Yorker hits the boot, Young tried to flick it away but is hit flat on the top of the foot. The crowd are thrilled, the fielders are celebrating. Balbirnie watches with a blank face. The Fizz is lifted by his mates as everyone circles in.

Hasan Mahmud to McBrine, OUT, Outside edge flies and short third takes it! Hasan's taken Bangladesh on victory's doorstep. He bowled a back-of-hand slower ball on a full length, he kept it wide so that McBrine had to reach for it, which he tried doing. He aimed to heave it across but got a bottom edge and it went in front of the fielder, who lunged forward and took a good catch

Nine needed off four. Shanto runs from deep cover to Hasan for a message. Short boundary on the leg side. Looks like Bangladesh had three fielders in the ring. Litton Das notices and deep point runs in

Hasan Mahmud to Adair, OUT, Adair repeats Tucker's mistake! He goes across and tries to paddle it away. He saw it was a slower one and tried to whip it away last second but the ball beat him and hit middle and off. No reactions or celebrations from the stoic bowler
