The ball hits him on the front pad, on the knee roll, and there's little chance of it missing the stumps from there. Hitting the top of off according to ball-tracking 0/1

20.2 edged and third-time lucky for Stokes. This loops into his hands at slip. Leach tosses it up outside off and finds turn, Pujara jabs at it slightly away from his body, probably aiming to steer it down to third man past slip, but he can only nick it off 85/2

21.2 wow, Moeen has knocked over Kohli for a duck. The India captain hangs around. He can't believe what has just happened! Moeen tosses it up, finds drift outside off, then it rips back in so very sharply to hit the top of off. This offbreak dips sharply as well, creating distance between the bat and the pitch of the ball, making Kohli's attempt to drive through the covers look a whole lot worse. Moeen just burst through the gate and silenced Chepauk 86/3

75.2 After bowling Kohli earlier in the day, Moeen castles Rahane as well. Offbreak, dangled up invitingly, and dipping on Rahane's sweep. He is nowhere close to the pitch. The ball drops in front of him, defeats him, and rattles the stumps 249/5

82.3 pushed through from around the wicket, straightens as Ashwin uses his feet and jabs it to Pope at short leg. Extra bounce for Root this time 284/6

89.2 got him, superb work from Foakes, and a lovely delivery too. They go upstairs, but I think Axar knows he's a goner. Dangled up loopily outside off, and it dips to make Axar reach out to drive. That causes him to lift his back leg, and the ball turns past his groping bat and into Foakes' gloves, and the bails go off before anyone can catch their breath. Superb 301/7

89.4 got him, Moeen has struck with a full-toss. Tossed up, angling into the stumps, and Ishant fails to read the length and is also a little late getting forward for the attempted sweep. Ends up top-edging it, and short midwicket runs a couple of steps to his right to take a simple catch 301/8

95.3 got him, excellent follow-up delivery. Back of a length close to off stump, straightens just a touch, and you can see Kuldeep was expecting the bouncer there. His feet go nowhere, and he gets squared up as he has a nibble at it, looking to run it down towards third man probably. Thin edge through to Foakes 325/9

95.5 tries the same shot, but this time he fails to make the contact he wants. Short again, outside off, and the attempted uppercut ends up as a bottom-edge through to the keeper 329/10

0.3 big appeal for lbw, and Virender Sharma thinks long and hard and finally raises his finger! Burns has reviewed, again after a lengthy consultation. He was caught on the crease there. Length ball, nipping back in past the inside edge of his defensive push. The ball strikes him in line with middle and leg, fairly deep in his crease, and ball-tracking returns an umpire's call verdict on where it's projected to strike leg stump. Superb bowling from Ishant, he's given India the early breakthrough. The lack of footwork from Burns got him in trouble there, but that was brought about by the length Ishant hit 0/1

7.2 another appeal by India, this one's for the catch. Not given once again. But India choose to review this. Did this brush the glove on the way up? Pushed through on middle, Sibley goes for the sweep, but Ashwin finds extra bounce. Sibley thinks he's gone and walks off. Ultra Edge confirms that it kissed the back of the bat on the way to Kohli at leg-slip 16/2

17.6 Lawrence has been put out of his misery - out off the last ball before lunch. He slumps to his knees. Ashwin pushes it through, attacking the stumps from around the wicket. He finds turn and bounce, another ball that disturbs the surface. Lawrence jabs in front of his body and pops a catch to Gill at short leg 39/4

10.3 top-edged into the lap of Ashwin at short fine leg. Axar roars and celebrates his maiden Test wicket. Axar loops it up just a shade outside off, disturbs the surface, Root dares to sweep against the spin with short fine in place. The ball bounces, hits the top edge, and that's a dolly for Ashwin. Rohit felt that the sweep wasn't quite a risky option for him because England hadn't posted a short fine leg for him. But here there's a fielder to gobble it up. Massive wicket for India 23/3

23.2 bowled him, Stokes has missed a half-volley. It can happen when the bowler gets the kind of drift Ashwin does, but Stokes might still be disappointed with himself. Drifted in, and he looked to clip that towards midwicket, and that's a dangerous thing to do from a stump-to-stump line. Turns past his bat, and hits off stump 52/5

38.1 first-ball wicket at home for Siraj! Wow, Pant throws himself to his left like a goalkeeper and plucks it out with one hand. Pant draws big cheers from the Chepauk crowd. Slightly short and slanting down the leg side with that angle, Pope can't get enough bat on it and tickles it behind. Pant athletic intervention provides India the breakthrough. It popped out of the webbing once Pant landed on his elbow, but he just about clings onto it. He has Chepauk chanting: Rishabh Pant! Rishabh Pant! Rishabh Pant! 87/6

48.1 edged, hits Pant's pad, into the hands of Rahane lunging forward from slip. On a length, and sliding away outside off to take the outside edge. The ball hits Pant's left thigh pad and Rahane catches it on the rebound even as the ball dies on him 105/7

49.2 chipped straight to Rohit at short midwicket. Full offbreak, spins in at off stump, Stone pushes forward and picks out the fielder 106/8

58.5 and he gets his man immediately. Another acrobatic grab from Pant, diving full-length to his left to take it one-handed. This is superlative bowling, angling into the fourth-stump channel, forcing Leach to play, and the length means his feet go nowhere. Just pushes at it, and the ball straightens away and takes a thick edge. Pant had to go for that, because the only slip was a wide slip. 131/9

59.5 he doesn't need any fielders, really. Full, too full to sweep, and too straight. He barely manages to get all the way down, and just about manages a bottom-edge into his stumps. Second consecutive five-for for Ashwin, he's bowled beautifully through this series so far. And he leads India off the field and gets a warm reception from his home crowd 134/10

21.1 has Leach dismissed Rohit with another ripper here? It's gone up to the third umpire... Tossed up beautifully on middle stump, gets Rohit stretching forward to defend. Then it dips and spins past his outside edge as he reaches for the ball, and there's plenty of bounce too. Foakes gathers it a foot or so above the stumps, and takes the bails off in a flash. Is Rohit's toe on the line? I can't see anything behind the line. The toe seems to be slightly in front of the line, in fact, when viewed from square on the leg side. Great work from Foakes, superb bowling from Leach 55/3

11.2 an appeal for lbw, and Gill has been given out by umpire Menon. Gill has a chat with Rohit and calls for a review. Quickish slider from Leach, strikes the front pad in line with middle before the ball hits the bat. Looks pretty adjacent. It would've crashed into leg stump and Gill has to go 42/1

18.6 wow, what a way to go. Out of his crease to the pitch of the ball again, the line is a big straighter, flicks it into the ground and it bounces up to short leg, who immediately flicks to the keeper to try and catch Pujara out of his ground. And it's mighty close, because Pujara jams his bat into the ground a centimeter out of his crease, then loses his grip on his bat just before he can drag it in. He tries to scramble in with his foot, but he just about fails to do so before Foakes disturbs the stumps 55/2

65.4 Mooen nabs Kohli for the second time in the match. Kohli calls for a review of the on-field out decision. On a length, Moeen gets this length ball to turn against the angle and bounce into the batsman. Kohli goes back and is pinged above the knee-roll of the front pad. Has Kohli nicked it or is this bouncing over the stumps? I think this will miss the stumps. Ultra Edge detects no edge and ooh the tracker returns umpire's call on middle stump. Clipping middle and enough for umpire Menon's original call to be upheld. Moeen ends an excellent innings from Kohli 202/7

25.3 got him, Pant falls in an attempt to take on Leach. Tossed up slow outside off, and Pant fails to reach the pitch of it. Looks to hit it with the turn over long-on or deep midwicket, but it turns more than he expects, past his inside edge. That's a very hard shot to pull off consistently on a turning pitch. A word on Foakes too, because that spun past leg stump, and he made the stumping look routine. Outstanding work again 65/4

30.3 gone, is it? Yup. Looks to step out, but can't reach the pitch of this dipping one outside off. Bounces up sharply, and he gets a thick inside edge into his pad as he lunges towards the ball to defend. Lobs up into the leg side, and Pope takes it diving forward from short leg 86/5

36.1 Moeen belts out an appeal for lbw, and that's given by Sharma. Pushed through from around the wicket, on a length and straightens to beat Axar on the defensive front-foot push and hit him on the back pad. No bat involved and it looks adjacent. The tracker returns umpire's call on middle stump. Umpire Sharma's call is upheld 106/6

85.5 bowled him. Back of a length, fairly close to off stump, and Ashwin was looking to go after pretty much every ball now. Looks to open up and pull, and he bottom-edges into the top of off stump. The end of a special, special innings, and he raises his bat to the crowd as he walks off 286/10

67.6 slides in from around the wicket, pins the pad, and the finger goes up. Kuldeep has asked for a review, but this seems fairly plumb. Nice and full, strikes the front pad below the knee-roll as Kuldeep pushes outside the line, probably playing for turn. No edge and that's clattering into leg stump. 76.4 taken, excellent catch from the fielder running to his left from backward square leg. Tossed up a bit slower, and Ishant looks to sweep from just outside off. Too far from the pitch of the ball to control it, and Stone runs to his left and finishes with a slide as he gets under the top edge 237/9

8.2 arm ball from Axar Patel, round-arm, fizzes in to ping the back pad right in front of middle. Sibley is hurried into a defence. He was looking to play it through midwicket, but couldn't get any bat onto it in the end. Looks pretty plumb and there's the first wicket for India in the fourth innings. It would have crashed into the middle of middle stump 17/1

25.1 got him, that's smartly bowled, and great work behind the stumps too! Lawrence steps out too early, and Ashwin fires in a quick offbreak that spins between his legs as he misses the hurried flick. The turn takes Pant a long way down the leg side to collect the ball, and from there he throws himself to his right to complete the stumping 66/4

16.6 Caught at leg slip! The nightwatchman is gone for a duck. Fullish, spins in and bounces from over the wicket, disturbs the surface. Leach has a feeble prod at it and loops it to Rohit. Two wickets in a space of seven balls just before stumps 50/3

Similar line and length to the previous one, possibly slightly wider to start, and Root comes forward to defend, but this one leaps from the pitch and hits his glove, lobs to Rahane for a simple catch at slip. Root looks ruefully at the spot that the ball turned from before trudging off the field 116/8

37.6 this is much fuller, slides in from around the wicket, as opposed to turning away once again. A crease-bound Stokes prods at the ball, playing for turn, inside-edged onto the pad, and it loops behind to Kohli, who dives forward to grab the ball at second slip, throwing himself in front of first. Ashwin gets Stokes once again. India are five away from victory 90/5

43.5 pushed through on off stump, full and a hint of extra bounce as another ball disturbs the surface. Pope ventures a slog-sweep and ends up splicing it to Ishant at deep midwicket. He runs in and completes a straightforward catch. England continue to stutter around Root. India are four away from victory 110/6

48.3 lobbed in the air, miscued straight to midwicket, where Axar takes a regulation catch. Some joy finally for Kuldeep and Chepauk celebrates with him. On middle, but a bit too full for the sweep, so Foakes can't quite get hold of that shot, and mishits it to Axar 116/7

54.2 got him, and Rishabh Pant ends this Test match with another acrobatic stumping. This was coming. Steps out once again, and Kuldeep dangles it up slower and wider. Doesn't reach the pitch of it, and it turns too far from him to be able to reach with another attempted drive. Pant has to catch it with his arms extended fully to the left, and from there he dives towards the stumps to end the Test match 164/10

51.1 all three of those fielders are there for the turning ball, but this one doesn't turn as he looks to sweep from one that's on or around off stump. Risky. He misses, and the ball hits his thigh pad. Given out on the field, and Stone has reviewed... No bat. Did that strike him in line? Umpire's call on impact, and the ball is going on to hit off stump.
