5.52 pm Just the one game to go before we call it curtains on this ODI series. We will join you on the morning of Monday, January 25 from the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury, Chattogram. For the moment, Thilak Ramamurthy and Hemant Brar join me in saying goodbye and goodnight from Mirpur,
Tamim Iqbal: "It was nice to spend some time in the middle. There's a lot of hunger in the dressing room. Everyone wants to do well. Players like Taskin, Saifuddin have not got a spot in the XI. There's a healthy competition going on. [Looking ahead to Chattogram] No it won't be a worrying sign. Everyone should get an opportunity to play. All the guys who haven't gotten an opportunity to play are capable of doing well. I am sure we will have some changes in the third ODI, and let's hope whoever comes in does well."
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the man of the match: "I am really happy, because I am getting Man of the Match after a long time. We are playing ODIs also after a long time. I have not been bowling well in the first ODI, and I just discussed with the team management and with senior players. I have been bowling in shorter spells of three overs or so. I have been discussing with Riad bhai [Mahmudullah] and our spin bowling coach. Tamim bhai is a senior guy, and we have played together in the BPL. He has always supported me."
Jason Mohammed: "Obviously, it was a little disappointing for us. A much better wicket for us, and we needed to put a lot more runs on the board. I think the spinners were always going to be challenging. We keep losing wickets in clusters, and we can't have partnerships going. That's been our downfall. There's a little bit of positives -- Ottley played well in his debut game. Rovman did well to get us a decent total. Akeal bowled well again."
For those asking, yes Shakib has some of the highest man of the match awards among allrounders, but is still a long way off the top of the pole (even discounting Sachin Tendulkar's credentials as allrounder) in the all-time standings.
5.40 pm Standing by for the match presentation. The good thing for Bangladesh is that there are at least four decent contenders for the man of the match -- one allrounder, two bowlers and a batsman
5.33 pm For the second match in a row, the result was never in doubt from pretty early on in the first innings. West Indies are just not giving their bowlers a chance with their batting performances. Newcomer Kjorn Ottley looked good for a brief while, but the batting caved around him, especially against the spin attack of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan. Mustafizur Rahman was superb again, with both his control and ability to pick off crucial wickets. In response, Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan all had a good hit out in the middle.
