That concludes our coverage from game one of this five match series. Game two is also at the SCG on Sunday night. Keep an eye out for Andrew Fidel Fernando's report. But on behalf of the team, it's goodbye from the SCG. See you on Sunday.
Player of the match is Adam Zampa: "It's a world class bowling attack. To have those guys up the other end building pressure. That pressure built up tonight and I was lucky enough to be on the end of a couple of wickets."
Aaron Finch: "It was nice to get the win. I thought we had to bowl well to defend that total on this wicket. We probably left ourselves a little bit short with the bat. We got ourselves into a position where we were one wicket down too many at stages after the 12th over. But an unbelievable effort from the bowlers."
Dasun Shanaka: "We had lots of positives with the bowling and in the field. I thought we did better in those departments. Obviously we didn't get any partnerships going from the start. It's been a concern even from the last tour we were here. We need to come up with a better plan for the next game."
11.19pm A four hour plus T20I ends with Australia winning by 20 runs under DLS after one over was lost to rain. Australia's bowlers were far too good for Sri Lanka. Josh Hazlewood took 4 for 12 but Adam Zampa turned the game with three key wickets at a critical time. He finished with superb figures of 3 for 18. Sri Lanka faced far too many dot balls. Australia were rusty but they proved why they are the reigning world champions. Ganesh: "Why didn't Chandimal bat higher up the order?"
