Scorer: K Vairavan | Commentator: Ekanth and Danyal
Sri Lanka's score seemed to be insufficient and that ended up being the case. They started well with the ball but the game slipped away. You'll find more details on the play in the report by my fellow commentator, Danyal Rasool. We'll be back in a couple of days to cover the action here on ESPNcricinfo, do join us then. For now, it's goodbye from me, Danyal, and our scorer, Vairavan.
Bismah Maroof, Pakistan Captain: We wanted to start well, Tuba's bowling was excellent. It wasn't like she was debuting. During my partnership with Nida, the focus was to rotate strike, pick gaps, and score when possible and I'm happy we were able to do it.
Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka Captain: The wicket is good for batting. But Anam getting a couple of wickets restricted us. We are disappointed as this was the first game here. We were not familiar with the conditions, hopefully we'll get better in the next game.
Tuba Hassan is the POTM for her spell of 4-1-8-3: The debut was better than I'd imagined. I kept it simple, the plan was to bowl against the batters' strengths on a slow pitch. I hope to continue the momentum gained here in the future.
5 pm: After a couple of wobbles in the powerplay and slowing down a bit later with Bismah and Nida Dar consolidating, Pakistan took off with good running and the batters getting settled. Sri Lanka's spinners were not as effective as Pakistan's who got flight and turn. The teams pump fists, Nida Dar smiles and hugs her partner. The dugout is happy as well. The kids in the crowd are elated which is lovely to see.
END OF OVER:18 | 3 Runs | PAK-W: 100/4 (7 runs required from 12 balls, RR: 5.55, RRR: 3.50)
- Nida Dar29 (25b)
- Ayesha Naseem1 (4b)
