Scorer: K Vairavan | Commentator: Ekanth and Danyal
That's a wrap here, folks. We'll see you in a couple of days. I'll be here, as will my fellow commentator Danyal, who's diligently filed in the report. That's coming soon, check it out. K Vairavan's been our scorer and for now, it's goodbye from all of us.
Bismah Maroof, Pakistan Captain: It was a team effort. Sidra's knock was brilliant. Our bowling has good variety particularly with spin. The quicks are doing well, we need to win in the field. We have 4 points in the ICC Championship and will look to earn two more in the next game.
Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka Captain: We lost it with the ball, the drop catches. Especially Sidra's. She played well. Kavisha and Nilakshi played well which was a positive. We had a chance to win, had Kavisha and Nilakshi continued, we could have come close. We have young cricketers and hope they do well. We'll try our best to go well in the next game.
Sidra Ameen is POTM for 123: It was a tough wicket but the last innings gave me confidence. It was coming off the bat well. I've tried to keep up my fitness. Big thanks to my team-mates, friend. I want to dedicate this to my mother who's supported me.
Dr Tamoor Mirza: "The girl with golden arm and the newest bowling sensation Tuba should be given chance in the next match to strengthen the bench for upcoming Commonwealth games."
5 pm: Pakistan win the first series in the 2022-25 cycle of the ICC Women's Championship. They were always 17 steps ahead given the score 250 that was 50-70 over par. Once Chamari's runs were dried up and she left, it was always a close to unclimbable uphill task. Fatima Sana was the highlight for Pakistan. The spinners bowled slow, hit good lengths, got the odd ball to bounce extra. Many kept low, pace could not be manufactured, so there were no big-scoring phases. Kavisha and Harshitha were going well at one point, but the dreaded run out had to spoil their party. To end on a light note, Achini and Inoka played out the remaining overs, 4.4 of them, to ensure the hosts were on the field for all 50 overs.
Sadia Iqbal to finish off the game from over the wicket.
