11.06pm And with that, that's a wrap. Two entertaining contests, two contrasting contests. But two England wins. And both by eight runs. From Miller, Alex and Chandan, thanks and goodnight, see you on Friday for the series finale.
Aaron Finch: "We were really poor in the field, pretty sloppy. [Tim] David has been fantastic, his raw power has been fantastic. Depends on the opposition, but [this XI] is close. Debate about one or two spots. A nice luxury to have three world-class quicks. Trying different things with bowling distribution."
Jos Buttler: "Really satisfying. Dawid has been really consistent and has done it against every attack around the world. Sam wants to be in the think of things at the important moments. We had to get Tim David out to win the game."
Dawid Malan is Player of the Match: "Over the moon, nice to score runs and contribute to a win. Knowledge of the grounds helps, I didn't have a great Big Bash, but I've found my rhythm. Hopefully I can keep the runs coming. Huss [who presented 50th cap], one of my idols growing up, great to have him say a few words."
Moeen Ali: "We spoke about staying in the moment, Dawid played superbly, it was a crucial partnership. We take a lot of confidence, it's huge for our team with a lot of young players. We're progressing in the right direction, Pakistan was big for us, winning two here, Jos coming back and in form. And Jonny [in the BT studio] missing you, mate..." How touching.
10.49pm Well, that was mightily impressive from England. Up against it early on with the bat, but after Dawid Malan and Moeen Ali had combined to post a competitive 178, the bowler's defence was superb, backed up by fielding that was several notches better than Australia's. Sam Curran's dismissal of Tim David was the clincher, as he finished with a fine haul of 3 for 25, but Stokes was handy with the ball too, as were the left-armers Willey and Topley. They lead the series 2-0, and that's a huge boon ahead of the World Cup.
Noor: "England's 1st ever T20 series win since Buttler became permanent captain. Also who deserves MOM today? Curran or Malan?" Well, the first that Buttler has captained, which is slightly different - Moeen of course was in charge in Pakistan last month. But yes, a notable milestone for Morgan's heir. And the MoM for me is Malan... easy to overplay the batting sometimes, but that was a true innings-transforming knock.
Jayeshds: "A series loss before WC... That's prerequisite for Aus to be winner... " Yes, this is also true...
JOYDEEPSINGHGIL: "8 is really made a negative sign cuz they lost all 2 matches of this series by 8 runs"
Barring a glut of no-balls, this one is done
12 from 2... six or bust...
Ricky: "18.6 was 1000 T20 runs for Wade, you missed it..." To be fair, so has he tonight...
Fine leg drops back
Rajesh Sanghvi: "Can the Cummins from KKR come to the fore ?" He's lurking...
