5.2 Leading edge is taken! Full on leg, he was looking to whip it away, but gets a leading edge and the ball goes high in the air and stays there for a long time. Madushanka settled under it, coming in from mid-off and he doesn't make a mistake. Debutant was impressive, but he has to go 36/1
18.5 taken at deep third! Good catch by Rajitha, as he had to take a few steps forward before going low and grabbing it, all this while keeping his eyes on the ball. Allen's party has ended, as he looks to overdo it. He skipped down the pitch after making room, and absolutely threw everything while hoicking across the line at this good length ball on middle and off. But he instead got a leading edge, which flew behind the wicket 108/3
12.3 Holes out at deep square-leg! Banged in short outside off, he swivels and pulls and it comes off the top edge. Asalanka comes in from the ropes and settles under it 71/2
29.4 gone, taken high by the mid-on fielder! He lofted down the ground all day, but this one didn't click, as the bat turned in his hands. Sri Lanka denting New Zealand one after the other there. It was on the slightly shorter side of a length on off, and was angled in by the bowler. Mitchell went lofting again, but got it off the inside half of the bat. The mid-on fielder took it above his head 152/5
26.2 outside edge, and Latham's nervous stay ends! Sri Lanka's two tight overs gets them a wicket. Shanaka floated this ball, on the fuller side of a length, on a line which was quite wide of off. Latham, who had taken his time to get off the mark and then never looked comfortable, went driving far from his body. Eventually, the outside edge was well taken by Mendis, tumbling low to his left 147/4
39.2 Oh no! He has picked out deep square leg! It's a slower ball, dug in short, and Phillips takes on deep square leg again. This time he doesn't quite nail the shot and it goes straight to . That came off the bottom half of the bat 218/6
47.6 finds long-off! He falls one short of fifty on ODI debut. Perhaps eyeing the shorter boundary down the pitch, he lofts right down to the fielder. It was a length ball all right around off stump, but I guess it bounced more than what Ravindra would have liked to go down that region. He didn't use any force at all, just went with the pace of the bowler 265/9
44.1 ballooned to long-on! The fielder barely had to move there. Shipley tried to up the ante by pulling this good length ball around sixth stump, but the consistent bounce of this pitch all day meant the ball came off the higher side of the bat. Plus, the boundary down the ground was slightly longer 240/7
44.3 now spooned to mid-off! Two wickets in three balls, and it's pretty much all about Ravindra now. Banged in on the hard length just outside off, as Henry looked to loft over the fielder's head, but got the pace and bounce of the pitch meant that came off the higher side of the bat, and went right to the fielder 240/8
49.3 Mendis takes this skiiiierrrr! Sodhi targeted the roof of the stadium, but the ball fell back down after flirting with the clouds. This ball was a touch fuller than the last two, and also just about on off, rather being wide of it. Sodhi went hoicking across the line, only to send it miles up. Mendis moved across to his left - somewhere where an imaginary leg slip would have been - and called for it to avoid confusion with the short fine leg fielder 274/10

3.3 Cleans him up! Pitches it up full on off, tails in a little and takes the inside edge to crash into leg-stump. The stump goes cartwheeling and Shipley is off celebrating! New Zealand know this is a big wicket 14/2
2.1 Huge mix-up and that could be it for Nuwanidu Fernando! Drives a full delivery through covers. Mid-off ran all the way to the rope to pick up as the batters collected two. Fernando wanted a third and was halfway down the pitch when Nissanka sent him back and he was well short of the crease when the bails were taken off by Latham 14/1
7.1 Taken at deep fine leg! On a length on middle, Mendis looks to pull it wide of the fielder in the deep, but it spoons up. Tickner does well to move to his left and take that falling over. Mendis falls for a 16-ball duck! 20/3
13.2 hit high on the back pad, appeal for leg before, and given out! A good length ball on middle, which is angled into Mathews, but straightens after pitching as he is almost squared up while also losing his balance. Mathews is trying to flick it across the line, and so his bat face is closed. He is into his shot early, and the ball races past to trap him in front. Replays show no inside edge, and that it would have hit the top of middle and off 46/6
9.3 Edged and taken! Banged in short outside off, Asalanka has a go at it, and it takes a thin edge to Latham who takes it around head height. Shipley has his third and Sri Lanka are in big trouble 31/4
9.4 Two in two for Shipley! Pitches it up outside off, Shanaka looks to drive and gets a thick edge to Mitchell at first slip. Shanaka is not moving. He thinks there's a bump ball and reviews it. But he will have to go. That clearly took the edge and flew straight to Mitchells's mitts. Golden duck for the Sri Lanka captain 31/5
18.4 five wickets for Shipley! We are further close to getting home. The man at deep backward square leg was placed well inside the rope, and so he just had to take a few steps further in to gobble that. Shipley banged that ball short just outside off, as Chamika backed away and had a swing. But the ball took the top edge and ballooned up for a catch 62/9
14.1 gifted to the point fielder! And Sri Lanka batters' march back continues. The bounce and the pace come into play yet again. The ball was short and slightly wide of off, enough to invite Hasaranga into a slash. He obliged, even as the ball angled away after pitching, and ended up hacking it right to the fielder placed a bit square 49/7
16.3 taken low by the point fielder! The procession continues. A soft dismissal in the end. Mitchell getting two wickets with the extra bounce available. He pitched it on a good length in the channel outside off, as Rajitha went pushing hard at it. The ball flew off the outside half of the bat, as Bowes at point went low to complete the grab 57/8
19.5 Ravindra waits, waits.. and waits before pouching it at mid-on! That was launched high into the Auckland sky, as Ravindra kept his eyes on it to bag it well. Length delivery angling into him, as Kumara made room to have a wild heave at that. All he could manage was send it sailing for an easy catch, as New Zealand win by 198 runs to go 1-0 up 76/10
