10:03pm The win takes Giants to second on the points table - better than Knight Riders on NRR - that is being led by Emirates. It was well set up by their captain Vince, with another fantastic fifty, and the powerful cameo from Jamie Smith. Emirates top order could never get going and Pollard always had a tall ask thereon
Kusal Perera, green belt for leading run-scorer: "Tournament still alive, we are trying to do our best. I am backing my strength, keeping it simple. Looking to go hard in the powerplay."
Kieron Pollard, Emirates captain: "We were just one hit away. Thought that we gave away 10-15 runs too much on the field. Difficult to come in and go straightaway. Lost a couple of wickets. At one point we wanted to go, but Jordan bowled well. Waqar has been fantastic. Positives all around."
James Vince, Giants captain: "Similar pattern to last game in a way. Got stuck with the bat when the spinners came on. Their spinners bowled well but Jamie Smith played well to get us to a good score. CJ with those yorkers against two powerful players. My job's really to back the bowlers. Need to think on the feet. Comes back to CJ, who backs his yorkers. Three games ago, we were under pressure to make top four."
Chris Jordan, Player of the Match: "Good win for the boys. In that crunch moment it is about execute and win or don't execute and lose. That simple. Just been working on a couple of things with the bowling coach. Operating on top end of my speed, seems to be helping so far. An U-19 World Cup playing at the minute, those young kids will be making the step up. So need to keep evolving."
Right then. Giants win three in a row to be back in the race for qualification. Only Emirates are assured of the playoffs for now. More games tomorrow as we end to the final stages of the competition. Do join us for the fun. Goodbye, take care!
