Player of the Match
Player of the Match

That's it from us today. Hope you all enjoyed the coverage. I am Srindhi signing off on behalf of my team. Good night and take care!

Sam Curran is the Player of the Match: " Obviously nice to be here at the start of the tournament. Last year I popped in for a couple at the back end, but to be here for the whole tournament, a really nice culture. I thought, obviously, you saw the way we bowled it. Obviously, I put a bit of swing and a bit of nip, but I actually thought to probably continue to do more. They had, obviously, great new ball bowlers, and they bowled extremely well. It's almost a bit of Test match cricket, going back to trusting your defence, and me and Halsey had a bit of a chuckle up there. We knew it would get easier, but thankfully got that victory."

Lockie Ferguson: "A tough wicket to bat on that one, but an interesting game of cricket, for sure. So the way the boys first bowled and then the way Sammy batted then was amazing. It was one of those tosses maybe that's good to lose. I thought it was doing sort of a lot throughout the whole game. I think both bowling attacks bowled very well, but they bowled in good areas, which made it tough, but nice to get out of the way."

James Vince: "I think that's the tough bit about batting first. It had a bit more moisture, but it seemed to be just holding it in there for a fraction longer. I guess we kept getting restricted with over taking wickets. We probably expected it to play a little bit better than what it did, but we don't really ever get a partnership developing, and, you know, 120 is pretty tough to defend."

10.07pm: Vipers clinch the match comfortably to notch up their second win in as many games. That means Giants are still winless in two attempts. Vince tried a lot with the bat to take the team to 119 as Giants collapsed around him. Adair was excellent with the ball to trouble the Vipers in chase but sloppy fielding, low score and Curran (42*) denied them their first victory of the ILT20 2025. Rutherford also played a nice cameo of 40 not out from just 18 balls to ensure they cross the finish line without hiccups.
