6pm Well, that's a wrap. New Zealand are back in the series in emphatic style. It's 2-1 going to Trent Bridge, see you there on Tuesday! From Miller, Sreshth and Venkat, plus Alan up in Brum, good night.

Finn Allen is player of the match: "The way they bowled, we tried to push through the middle and take it deep. Worked on holding my shape more, more of a method instead of being too reckless. Didn't know what a good score would be so watch the ball and react..."

Jos Buttler: "Credit to NZ, they outplayed us, good toss to win and they took the game away from us. Needed a fast start and a good powerplay but we didn't get anything going. With two right-handers, was a hard match-up for Moeen. Delighted for Gus to get more exposure, settled well in the group and his performances have been brilliant."

Tim Southee: "Much better in all three areas, in a style we expect to see from NZ. Finn's innings allowed people to bat around him and GP's innings on a wicket like that showed his class. First few overs were crucial and allowed the spinners to come through the middle.

5.49pm Well well... much like the women down at Chelmsford last night, just when England thought they'd got their series all sewn up, back come their opponents with a truly vast hiding. Superb innings from Finn Allen and Glenn Phillips left England with far too to do, especially after a lacklustre powerplay, bossed as so often this summer by the Somerset Blast-winning quick, Matt Henry. Tim Southee was on song too, and Kyle Jamieson's comeback from a back injury continues apace with three good wickets.
