It has been a pleasure bringing you all the live-action and sharing in the excitement. Until next time, this is Rvel Zahid signing off on behalf of our scoring master Binoy George.
Wow, I still can't wrap my head around what just transpired! It's really astounding how TSK crawled their way back in this crucial contest, a virtual quarter-final, after being down and out for most of the chase, but Mindell and Sams were on a mission tonight; they were determined to win this, and we saw some stupendous hitting from the duo as Unicorns were left puzzled by the onslaught. First Shadab and then Haris got bludgeoned in the crucial final overs, and from thereon, they lost their way, especially Shadab, who erred slightly on the shorter side, as Sams was firing on all cylinders. Unicorns had them on a leash in the first part of the innings, but slowly TSK sneaked their way back into the match, and some big overs towards the end gave them the momentum. As a result of this remarkable win, Super Kings have now secured a spot in the playoffs of the inaugural edition of Major Cricket League!
Daniel Sams, Player of the Match: Just trying to watch the ball and hit it if it's in my zone...sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't'. This surface took a little time to get used to, was bit inconsistent, but wasn't too bad. We were on backfoot for most of the innings but we came back
Aaron Finch, San Francisco Unicorns Captain: It was outstanding (on Sams), We did things right for a good part of the game, some days the margins are fine, probably the fielding was the difference, we were a bit sloppy. The ability to come to Morrisville to a public park and get these facilities was brilliant, loved every bit of it.
Faf du Plessis, Texas Super Kings Captain: It was an incredible game. This league is made for players like that, a lot of players in that situation may have not played like that. (Milind) he showed great composure. That partnership was vital for us. It's nice to have a win like that leading into the playoffs, gives you a lot of confidence, we are looking forward to (playoffs). We will keep an eye on the game tomorrow.
Fazu : "At this point, it almost feels like a crime to be in Super Kings franchise and not to qualify for playoffs! Thanks for keeping up the legacy and Congratulations TSK! Love from Tamizh Nadu, India!"
Sowmya : "Daniel Sams has just continued from where he left off at Essex in the Vitality T20 blast finals day. While his bowling economy has gone up, he has more than made up for the same with his power hitting. Nerves of steel!" Played a blinder!
Babu: "Hey Rvel - I told you this a few matches before but I knew that TSK were going to make playoffs and I'm telling you now that TSK are gonna win the trophy this year!!" I should have paid heed to your prediction. Unbelievable comeback from TSK in this game. Ice-cool Sams played a superb knock!
