Scorer: Binoy George | Commentator: Rvel Zahid

And so it's a soggy wrap. The outfield is waterlogged even though it's no longer raining. Both teams will walk away with two points apiece. Here's the points table. We'll look forward to your company for the Super Giants vs. Paarl Royals match tomorrow at Durban and the forecast looks clear for Sunday's game. From Rvel Zahid and the rest of the crew at ESPNcricinfo, thanks for joining us for the double-header

Match Abandoned. The umpires and ground staff are shaking hands, so it looks like it's all over. They were engaged in a prolonged conversation and then decided to call it a day. Players are now shaking hands as well in the dressing room, so yeah, that's it

7:52pm Umpires are out on the field for an inspection. Umbrellas are down and it looks as if the rain has stopped. The outfield has taken a hammering, though. We'll let you know the outcome of the inspection soon. Judging by the body language and expressions, I think it's heading for a close

Here's Alagappan Muthu with his lucid analytical piece after stumps on day three of the England versus India 1st Test in Hyderabad Hyderabad erupts as Bumrah collides with Bazball

On a sapping day when the bowlers needed as much support as they could muster, Smith, Green and Head provided it in thrilling fashion. More from Andrew McGlashan on second Test third day's play between Australia and West Indies Australia's fielding passes the endurance test at the Gabba

Srinath: "JSK will be happy to take these free points and stay in the hunt for the top 4! Less risky than playing and losing and falling behind the 8 ball. "

Still tipping down here but there is some live cricket underway at Sharjah where Gulf Giants are in pursuit of 133 against Dubai Capitals in ILT20 S2. You can follow the game here

7:33pm: No word on abandonment yet; it's drizzling steadily at the moment with square covers still on. There's no prospect of a resumption by the look of things. Some spectators are having fun and it appears that the security guys are running behind them to get them off the field

Covers still in place. Next update at 19:45

Kumar: "Is it still raining? Are the covers off?" I see lightening and rain; it will require a massive turnaround to fit in a rain-truncated affair

6.55pm: Live pictures show big puddles on the ground, both inside and outside the boundary rope, with a thick cloud cover overhead. The situation is grim and the only conceivable way for cricket to proceed would be if they agree to play on boats. While the crowd initially braved the rain, it seems sparse now. I don't know about you but the picture reminds me of the song 'Thunder' by Imagine Dragons:

Just a young gun with a quick fuse I was uptight, wanna let loose I was dreaming of bigger things and Wanna leave my own life behind Not a "Yes, sir", not a follower Fit the box, fit the mold, have a seat In the foyer, take a number I was lightning before the thunder

6.30pm: Alright, so the situation has changed. It's pouring down heavily. Covers are firmly in place and puddles are forming around them. AB de Villiers said on the TV broadcast that the drainage is great and the game would restart 30 minutes once the rain stops

The picture doesn't seem too gloomy at the moment, and the wind might just disperse the clouds soon

E Bosch to Makhanya, SIX, No way! That is mind-boggling stuff by Colin Ingram at deep backward square! He has taken an absolute screamer at the rope, caught the ball by stretching his hand out and the ball sticks in, flicked it in the air, went outside the rope, reestablished his balance and regained the momentum and then completed the catch. But is it clean? Makhanya tried to get on top of the short ball and I think he connected fairly well, just got more height than distance. Hold on, looks like his shoe was in contact with the advertising cushion momentarily when he tried to toss the ball up in the air and it's going to be NOT OUT, lot of drama but Makhanya is still out there, stellar effort nevertheless from Ingram and it has also started to bucket down so we'll have a rain delay!

E Bosch to Makhanya, no run, Oh, that's a rippperrr! Slightly shorter and plugging away in the corridor, tries to flirt with it warily and the ball nearly grazed the outside edge

E Bosch to du Plooy, OUT, Chopped on! Bangs it on short of a length on a teasing off stump line, tries to dab it down to deep third and ends up getting a fat inside edge that disturbs the furniture, du Plooy goes on naught, JSK stutter early on and need a partnership to calm things down

Dupavillon to du Plessis, FOUR, back of a length at the body, massive leading edge flies away over cover for a four, riding his luck but the intent is clear
