Quite the pitch, quite the game. At least for Joburg Super Kings, who are now the only team to remain unbeaten in this edition so far. They have three games coming up stacked one on the other. There's PC vs MICT tomorrow, catch you for that. Thanks for joining in today. Take care.
Chad: "I know it's a batter's game but de Kock as POTM instead of Ferreira is a strange choice." Decided by the fans, is what was said. But yeah, agree with your choice
Faf du Plessis: Even last year, the wicket assisted spin. Pitch looked dry and spinners would be key. We felt 160 is the score we need to stay in the game. The two sixes from Gerald was huge. The spinners bowled attackingly and took wickets, that's what they do best. Ferreira's worked a lot on his bowling, hope he'll do it for the Proteas too. Coming here and winning is tough as DSG are a good outfit.
Keshav Maharaj: We left 15 too many out there. Quinny showed great courage, but we lost direction. It happens. Last two balls going for sixes we can't look too much into, but there are areas we need to improve. There was character within the team. We had glimpses today though
Quinton de Kock, POTM: Wicket just got slower, tackier as the innings progressed. I honestly thought I couldn't do it, it was too difficult but tried. I've done it but on much flatter wickets. I couldn't take on bowlers earlier because of the loss of wickets.
9:02pm: A very good game from JSK. One of those where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. As shown by the two late boundaries from Coetzee in the first innings, and by Tahir's catch to get Mulder, or Wiese's variation to get Breetzke... Every bowler picked up a wicket at least and there were a few 'bowler's wickets,' none better than Tahir's drifting full ball that beat King's defences. Shamsi to Woakes was a peach too. De Kock and Klaasen were the only two batters to make significant contributions for DSG with the bat, eight single-digit scores highlight the main issue they faced.
