11:02pm Right. That will be that from us for tonight. Hope you enjoyed our coverage as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. Until next time, this is me (Shashwat) signing off on behalf of Vairavan and everyone else at ESPNcricinfo! Goodbye, goodnight and take care!

Jess Jonassen, Player of the Match: It got much closer than we would have liked. Really happy to be out there and get the team over the line. Her superwoman dive came in handy. (About her batting) I guess it is really hard in the Australian line-up to get up the order so starved of opportunity there. In the domestic circuit, I play in the middle order and that has kept me in good stead here. More innings like this hopefully are coming. A bit of a surprise for me to be standing here (receiving this award). Many players deserving of this award and I will take the two points. (On her conversation with Kapp) Just told her to back her swing. She got one short and wide and she absolutely nailed it. I had clear plans on how I wanted to play the off-spinner, and got a sweep shot away.

Meg Lanning, Delhi Capitals captain: It was close in the end there. JJ and Kapp did well to keep their composure. RCB bowled pretty well in the middle to restrict us but good to get over the line. I would have loved to have finished it off a little earlier. There was a bit of turn for the spinner. Capsey's innings got us off to a bit of a flier. To have two experienced players at the end really helped. If you hit a good length and bowl straight, that is very effective. Lot to learn from this and winning under pressure is going to do this group a world of good. I try to stay pretty calm no matter what is happening. The opposition is going to be on top at certain points. There is a lot of experience in the side. Shikha has gone under the radar a little bit but she has been very good.

Francois: "Great game! All-round performance from Kapp makes this South African heart proud"

Sriram: "A tale of two drops by both teams. That could have changed the game a lot"

Smriti Mandhana, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain: Really good effort by the bowlers to take it till the 20th over. Lots of improvements but lots to work on still. (On Perry and Ghosh) That partnership brought us back into the game. They both used their experience to get us to a defendable total. It gave momentum back to us. It was not the best of starts, including my batting. That first 14 overs did really hurt us. 10-15 runs more there would have helped. It (the pitch) is changing. The number of matches being played at these venues, towards the fag end, I think wickets will get slower.

Jemimah Rodrigues: I wanted to finish it off and I was very disappointed when I got out. The way JJ (Jonassen) came and hit those boundaries was wonderful. The wicket was not very easy. These are the matches you live for and it was good it went down to the wire. It is very important for our teams to be tested. The tougher the situation, that is when you rise up and your team goes to a whole new level. (On the fielding) Our team has been fielding really well. One bad game does not define us. It is what we do next that will define us and what will matter. I think we just need to forget what happened, back ourselves because we have one of the best fielding sides out there.

10:44pm Wow, that was some game. RCB did very well to stay there till the end but they were left ruing the middling total they put up. There was a bit of help on offer for the bowlers and had they scored 20 runs more, they would have been in with a very good shout. Credit, though, must be given to DC. They held their nerve in the moments that mattered, with their overseas pros Kapp and Jonassen soaking up all the pressure and thriving at the end. Jemimah also played her part, as did Capsey, setting up the chase with a belligerent powerplay. In short, this was a game that showed why DC are where they are and why RCB are where they are. DC found the right answers just when they required it; RCB didn't!
