Royal Challengers finally win to ensure there are no more winless teams in the Women's Premier League. The result today keeps the fight for the third spot open. Delhi Capitals will have a chance towards sealing their playoffs spot tomorrow. Hope to see you then. For now, I'm Ekanth, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Srinidhi, and our scorer, Binoy.
Vinod Rajpal: "RCB: Good Times !"
Kanika Ahuja is the POTM: I just wanted to win a game for RCB. Since childhood, I have hit big sixes. My cricketing journey was difficult in Patiala initially but things are getting better. I've been in similar situations playing for Punjab, so I enjoy the pressure. The atmosphere in the team was a bit low when we were losing but we remained positive. The win today was great.
Smriti Mandhana, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain: We were tensed but Kanika and Richa's stand got us through. Very proud of Kanika. I think the camera showed I was nervous initially and we had to get a win at least today. But Kanika and Richa played really well. Kanika's approach is brilliant. Indian players are more technical but her flair was brilliant to see. Big thanks to the loyal supporters, they were supporting even when they weren't in great positions. This one's for them.
V Sundar: "Atlast, RCB have moved from 5th place in points table!!!!"
Richa Ghosh: Felt good when there was just one run at the end, and to give Shreyanka the strike. The energy was different today with nothing to lose. Feels great to finally win. When the top four fell, I thought we needed to bide time and build a partnership. The plans were executed well with the ball. There was movement for the seamers and some turn for spinners. Last game, we got momentum but not the win. We improved on that today.
Alyssa Healy, Warriorz Captain: You look at RCB and they were due. We played hard after putting up an under-par score and weren't good enough. The wicket was tacky early on. Losing three wickets early on wasn't good. It was gripping when the ball was relatively new. Ultimately 130 wasn't good enough. Full credit to RCB, they are a good side. Bit scary for the two sides playing them in the future.
10:50pm: Celebrations in the dug out. End-to-end smiles in the faces, Schutt gives Shreyanka and Richa hugs as RCB seal their first win. RCB got the perfect start and finish with the ball but were not clinical. They allowed Harris and Deepti to take Warriorz to 135. Devine got 14 off the first over with the bat but her wicket led to Mandhana failing again. Knight kept going despite the wickets. The wobble continued with Perry and Knight falling not too far from each other. But Richa's calm and 20-year-old Ahuja's brilliance stitched a 60-run stand that took them to safe shores. Deepti,
Ankit: "Finally!!!!"
Virat: "ufffffffffffffff... Ha Ha claps, jumps, fist bumps.. -RCB fan"
