2.09pm: So Rockets, who reached the eliminator last year, have now lost two of their opening three, to go with a washout. There's a wealth of talent in their line-up, but they were less than the sum of their parts today. Anway, it's a double-header day, so quickly on to the next act: Trent Bridge hosts Rockets versus Superchargers in the men's competition and then down at The Oval, it's part one of Invincibles against Manchester Originals. Enjoy!
2.02pm: Rockets go down in flames at the end. They were 100 for 2, needing 35 from 25, but had a disastrous last quarter to come up short by nine runs - and that, too, with Kat Sciver-Brunt hitting ten from the last two with the game gone. Lucy Higham bowled the key set, removing Nat Sciver-Brunt and Fran Wilson in the 16th, and nerves set in as the spinners took hold. Bryony Smith's 70 off 44 goes in vain, and Higham is named Match Hero after taking 3 for 29: [How?] "Not really sure, quite glad it was 24 off the last over because Katherine got stuck into me. One of those, take it close, take it the end. Really proud of the girls to stick in there. Pretty nervous. Bryony batted unbelievably well but we knew if we took a couple of wickets we were always in the game. [NSB and Wilson wickets] With Nat I tried to be a bit more brave, hold it back, if it goes it goes, luckily got a bit of glove on to stumps, I think. Came off today. It's a privilege to come out here, we've got a great group of girls. As Hollie Armitage would say I'm chuffed to bits. Nice to have a performance like that but credit to the girls for getting behind me."
Higham to finish the innings with an Ayrton, 24 needed from five
