The series is 1-1. The multiformat points table is 2-2. Wonderful performance by South Africa. Thoroughly deserved win. The third T20I is in Hobart on Tuesday. Hope you can join us then. By for now.
Marizanne Kapp on Fox: "It's a long time coming. To restrict them today on that wicket, I was a bit surprised by the way they came out. But happy as a whole. We are one of those teams that has had a few close games against Australia and for some reason at the end, we just can't get over the line. There's a few of us that's been playing for years so it's probably about time that we start winning the close ones."
Hypocauct: "Australia have now lost at least one match in each of their last four bilateral T20I series (against ENG, WI, IND, SA) and have a 5-5 record in their last 10 matches in the format.Still favourites on balance to defend their title, but makes things more uncertain in a World Cup year."
1.47pm South Africa beat Australia for the first time ever. They win by six wickets with six balls to spare. Laura Wolvaardt leads them home with a wonderful unbeaten half-century to back up an excellent bowling performance. The skipper controlled the chase after a 75-run opening stand with Tazmin Brits. Australia were well short with the bat but they had some chances to make it closer. A couple of key drops and some loose deliveries at pressure moments cost them. But South Africa were too good.
South Africa need 12 off 12. Tryon at the non-striker's. Schutt on
