5.32pm A comprehensive presentation. Lots of things to break down there. From Jaiswal, from Rohit, and also from Brathwaite. Well, that wraps up our coverage of the first Test. Wherever you are, thank you for joining us, but especially a big thanks to the die-hard India fans who stay up at 3am IST to watch their side win a Test match. Never change, cricket fans... on behalf of Sid Monga, Thilak R and Venkat Raghav, this is Sreshth Shah saying bye bye!
5.26pm Winning captain ROHIT Sharma: "(How do you prioritise winning the Test and century - is one more special than the other?) Every run you score for the country is special. But want to say our bowling was superb. Bowling them out for 150 actually set the game for us. On that wicket we knew batting would be slightly tough, but we held to our task, we bowled pretty well. On that pitch, we knew we wanted to bat once, bat long. And once we got excess of 400 runs, we bowled well again. (Jaiswal) He's got the talent. We knew about it. He's shown in past couple of years he's ready for this big stage. He showed patience. His temperament was tested as well. At no point did it look like he was panicking. I just had to remind him, 'you belong here.' My job was to just keep telling him he's done all the hard yards and to enjoy his time in the middle. (Declaration, Rohit's expression) I was just letting them know that we have an over or so and then declaring. I just wanted Ishan to get off the mark. Because he played 20 balls without getting off the mark. Wanted him to get his first runs in Test cricket and then we'd declare. But I understand, playing first Test can be nerves, he was waiting to bat all day yesterday too, so I wanted him to score one quickly before we declare. (Jadeja + Ashwin) The results speak for themselves. Both have been doing it for a while, so they know exactly what is expected from them. Don't have to tell them much, just about going out and giving them freedom to express. And when you have the kind of experience they have on these pitches, it is always a luxury. But you still have to pitch it... both Ashwin and Jadeja were magnificent, especially Ashwin. (New WTC cycle match) It is always nice to start well. Fresh cycle, first game of the new cycle. We wanted to come out and get a result. We don't worry about conditions or the sort of pitch we play on, mentally we have to be ready to play on any kind of pitch. That's the talk we've been having for a while. Given the conditions, I thought we played really well. Now it is just about carrying it forward and take the momentum into the second Test. We have few new guys but also some guys who haven't played a lot of cricket. So game time is needed, and keep ticking those boxes."
Amit : "As a boy of 90s, each Overseas win , no matter the opposition is such a pleasure to watch. This ruthlessness, which we saw in Australians of 00s , seeing that in India is what we wanted back then. "
5.23pm Losing captain Kraigg BRATHWAITE: "Before I start, want to thank the Dominica crowd. (Toss) Didn't think it spun a lot early on. We just let ourselves down with the bat. First innings total was just not good enough. (What disappointed?) That I didn't get any runs. As a leader, I need to lead from the front and get runs. In the first innings, a few dismissals were not good for us. We lost a wicket before lunch. We lost certain situations. Senior guys have to lead the way. (Batting against champion bowlers) It is tough. It is having the balance and playing the shot in the right way, whether to defend or sweep. I think we didn't execute the shots we were trying. Even today we had some defensive dismissals. We have to use the bat more instead of our pads. Will help us in these conditions. (Athanaze, on debut) He had a good start. You could see that he belongs. Bowling, he had to do a job because we lost Cornwall for four hours. His future is bright. Has a strong mind."
Biren Prajapati: "As an Indian fan, more than a joy of winning the test, it is the sad feeling for West Indies cricket going down. First, the did not qualify for World cup 2023 and now total surrender in test cricket."
5.20pm Time for the presentation.
Yashasvi JAISWAL is the Player of the Match. Gets a good-looking trophy, takes some pictures, and now talks to Daren Ganga: "(Prep and planning) We were just having a nice session. I spoke to Dravid sir a lot, and he gave me confidence. I want to thank the selectors and Rohit bhai for showing faith and allowing me to express. (Emotions...) What I have been working for... I'm just thinking of preparing well and focus on my discipline and process. (Playing Test for India) A special moment. I used to think about playing for my country when I was young. Emotional moment for me but this is just the start. (Personalities who contributed to his early success...) A lot of people have helped me in this journey. I want to thank each and everyone, of course the senior players. The way I was talking with Rohit bhai and Virat bhaiya, I was learning a lot."
5.15pm We'll have the presentation soon, but before that, a recap of the Test. West Indies chose to bat on day one and after a brief resistance from their openers, they fell apart barring a spunky 47 from debutant Alick Athenaze. After that, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal put on a 229-run opening stand to demoralise the hosts, with the debutant going on to finish on 171 and the captain making 103. Kohli's slow-burn 76 frustrated WI further. And then, with 50 overs to survive this afternoon, West Indies failed miserably. They were 58 for 5 in no time, and if it wasn't for some double-digit scores late in the evening, the margin would've been more. This was an absolute non-contest.
Stat alert: This is the 23rd time where R Ashwin has taken the match-winning wicket of a Test match, the most by anyone, surpassing Shane Warne (22).
Virag: "At this rate Ashwin will have 500 wickets before he leaves the carribean ( he was at 473 before this game, is at 485 now)"
5.11pm India are all smiles as they thump West Indies by an innings and 141 runs and collect their first set of points in WTC 2023-25. West Indies will be distraught - the gulf in quality, intent and intensity was so evident.
Handshakes are on with West Indies managing only 280 runs for 20 wickets. Today, it seemed like Jadeja would give Ashwin a run for a five-wicket haul in the third innings, but Ashwin just ran through the middle and lower-middle order in the final session. He finishes with 12 for 131.

Kishan telling Gill that Gill should've batted like Warrican.
Kohli tells Jadeja in Hindi that Warrican is swinging the bat wildly.
R Ashwin consolidates top spot in bowling rankings, while Ravindra Jadeja moves up to No. 7 on that list
And did Yashasvi Jaiswal have the highest score for an opener on Test debut?
Recent ups and downs in form have turned him into a different kind of player
A change of angle, a bit of natural variation, some wobbly seam, and poof, the batter is gone before you know it
Yashasvi Jaiswal became the eighth Indian to win the Player-of-the-Match award on Test debut
