And that's a wrap! The cricketing action from the group stage has come to an end. Until we meet again for another thrilling encounter, stay safe, stay engaged, and keep the spirit of cricket alive. This is Rvel Zahid, signing out on behalf of Abhimanyu Bose, Sreshth Shah and our scorer Harshith Gowda.
Waseem got to 45, Hameed added 39, Sanchit couldn't push on after 44 as Ireland managed to find ways to break those partnerships and the task became increasingly onerous for UAE. McCarthy's opening burst pegged UAE back and his miserly spell didn't give any sort of momentum to UAE's innings. Mcbrine, Little and Dockrell took two wickets apiece as UAE kept losing wickets in pursuit of the stiff target. Earlier, Stirling showed his class and went berserk with the bat, scored 162 to help his side post an above par total. When Stirling has these kinds of days, there's not much you can do about it. He was devastating from the word go and led the charge, as if he was doing catharsis after Ireland once again, second time in a row, will miss out the World Cup but they finish their campaign on a high with a convincing win. UAE bow out of the competition without a win and are languishing right down the table while Ireland are just above them with two points.
Andrew Balbirnie, Ireland Captain: "We wanted to put a win on the board and it was a good all-round performance. Yeah, it's been very difficult. We played very good cricket in the last 18 months. Not going into Super six is hugely disappointing. We want to go back with our heads high. I think there was a lot of passion coming into this competition. Just want to go home with a smile on face. It's been a tough tournament. In hindsight, it was a good toss to lose. I think when (Stirling) gets going, it's hard to stop him. We hope that he continues his form as long as possible."

David: "At least Ireland have sort of / maybe / possibly / a small bit / saved their honour here. Lets see if they dont crash out in the T20 qualifiers, Big big questions to be asked around mental fragility and the governance of Irish Cricket. Any time it matters the team capitulates and from the governance point of view the game has been stagnant for 5 years now. I think its time for new people at the top of Cricket Ireland. CEO has been in office for a very very long time now.
