22.23pm So, that's a wrap. It was fun while it lasted, but once Zampa got into his work, Australia's early dominance in both powerplays came to be the difference. From Miller and Gnasher, and Chandan, good night!
Phil Salt: "Everything was good apart from the result, Heady came out swinging, we dragged it back, but with 50 off 30, we were a couple of wickets too far down. Heady's done that for a couple of years, it's about how do we shut that down? Beth, the way he bowled and crossed the line, looked like he'd been there millions of times. Good signs. They played well, we dragged it back, we should have chased it realistically. At times we could have taken partnerships deeper. But we've had a good look at them now."
Mitchell Marsh: "Exciting watching Heady and Shorty, on par for above 200. Tried our best to stuff it up. Hazlewood and Zampa, lucky to have guys like that in our team. It was a 200 wicket, when Heady got going the conditions don't matter. Xavier has hurt his side, disappointing but hopefully not too bad. Colder here than in Scotland, hopefully warmer in Cardiff."
10.11pm So, Australia draw first blood, and it was their stunning assault in the powerplay that won it. Travis Head with a 19-ball fifty, and Matthew Short with 41 from 26, pumped up the runs in the powerplay, and not even a subsequent collapse of 10 for 93 could derail them. Josh Hazlewood was superb in the powerplay, Adam Zampa unplayable through the middle. And despite some resistance from Livingstone, Sean Abbott's three-for closed it out.
The Player of the Match is Travis Head: "Nice start, bowled well at the start, got one away, set a platform... I was trying to acclimatise to a wicket with pace, hitting good shots and Shorty got a cracking start. Good partnership to start the series well. We've played at the Strikers, a consistent theme at the top, we can all play that. Good relationships with the guys in the team. A bit of a luck, but I've worked hard to play with a freer mindset."

We've had one 30-run over tonight... can we have a 36?
Mohd Irshad : "I am most disappointed by Livingston, he never lived to the expectations in international arena. Time to move on." His bowling was magnificent though...
