11.2 Kumara breaks through, and he is pumped! Test wicket no.100 for him too, and Markram has to trudge back! After hanging it up outside off, he brings this one back into Markram. Pitches it on off and this nips back in just a smidgen. Markram goes for the big, booming drive without getting to the pitch and is done all ends up. Hears the death rattle soon after, and South Africa, after looking largely comfortable in the past few minutes, have been rocked! 32/2
1.1 Asitha likes that, and Paul Reiffel does too! de Zorzi reviews! Devilish in-swinging yorker that seems to finish on leg stump. de Zorzi, facing his first ball, does not have his balance quite on point and falls over. Cannot access the ball thereafter and gets pinged on the boot. The only question here is if this was doing too much. Seemed to hit the batter on the full. No bat involved. All eyes on Ball Tracking now. It comes up and... it is Umpire's Call on the 'Impact' and 'Wickets' parameter, with the ball just scraping the outside of leg stump. de Zorzi has to go for a golden duck and Sri Lanka are right into it! 0/1
85.3 Gone minutes before the close of play. That ends a terrific knock and is greatly appreciated by the sparse crowd around. Was a sharp back of a length ball outside off. Rickleton pokes at it, gets a thick outside edge which is held smartly by gully as the ball was travelling at pace 263/6
15.4 Edged and Stubbs is a goner. Good length ball well outside off. Stubbs goes hard at it, gets a thick outside edge with Mendis taking a good catch to his right. He is filthy with himself, is Stubbs. Lobs his bat in the air. Should have left that alone 44/3
52.6 The short ball ploy has worked. Asitha persisted with the bouncer barrage and has got his man. Banged in short again down leg, Bavuma once again gets inside the line, looking to hook him. He is cramped for room and the ball hits his glove with the keeper taking a simple catch. They are checking for the height of that. Looks close but Bavuma was crouched when he played that shot. Yep, replays confirm the height is fine and Bavuma's knock comes to an end. 177/4
59.2 no need for any fielders this time! Bedingham's luck has run out! Slowed up a touch on off, enticing Bedingham to come down the track. He does so and tries to smash it into next week. Gets nowhere close to the ball and has a wild slog at it in the end. Misses it completely and the ball clinks into leg stump. Not the greatest Test innings Bedingham will ever play, and Sri Lanka have a richly-deserved wicket! 186/5

86.3 Cleans him up with a ripper. And Vishwa has enjoyed that. The second new ball working wonders for Sri Lanka. That will also be stumps on day 1. Gets the ball to land on a length and nip back into Jansen breaching his defenses and rattling his off stump. 269/7
88.1 edged and taken! Vishwa with the early breakthrough on day two! Back of a length in that probing corridor just outside off. Maharaj is unsure of whether he wants to play at this or leave it. In the end, he is late in getting his bat out of the way and the ball floats through to Karunaratne, who makes no mistake at first slip! 269/8
100.5 Cleans him up with the the full one. Pitched up on a length on a seam and nipping back into Rabada. The ball breaches Rabada's defenses to crash into the stumps. He was rooted to the crease probably expecting another short ball. Asitha was on point there. 325/9
103.4 Spooned straight up and Kamindu takes a comfortable enough catch. Back of a length ball outside off, he looks to go across the line, gets it on the splice with the ball ballooning straight up. Kamindu gets across from short midwicket and takes it close to the non-striker's stumps 358/10

55.2 Oh, my word. Why did he do that? Nissanka has given it away. He made up his mind much before the delivery was bowled that he was going after Maharaj. The bowler sees him coming and shortens his length. Nissanka doesn't reach the pitch of the ball and is bowled neck and crop. Out for a fantastic 89, but is that the opening SA were looking for? 199/3
15.4 flashes away from the body and nicks it through! On a short o a length again, just outside off. Karunaratne thinks he can flay this away but the ball is perhaps a touch closer to him than he would have liked. A bit of extra bounce too and he feathers it through to Verreynne. Rabada is on the board, and Sri Lanka's opening resistance is broken! 41/1
44.2 and the keeper gobbles up the chance! Paterson has something to show for his toil and he has broken this game open! Keeps probing in that fifth/sixth stump channel and draws Chandimal forward. He is not to the pitch of it and as the ball straightens, he is forced to dangle his bat at it. Gets a healthy nick that Verreynne dives forward to his right to snare. Paterson is elated and South Africa perhaps sense a window of opportunity! 150/2
76.2 that's an absolute snorter that Mathews could do very little about. The angle certainly played a part as well as Jansen bowls a short ball into the body, gets this to zip off the pitch and it was too quick for Mathews who couldn't keep his hands down. Gets this off the shoulder of the bat glove and through to Verreynne. 261/4
80.3 draws the edge and second slip takes a good catch moving low to his right. It's the extra bounce from Jansen that does the trick once again. Bowls one a touch ahead of a length outside off, Kamindu plays with hard hands, is squared up and is forced to play, Markram takes a good catch. 268/5
88.1 Edged and held this time around by Markram. A bit of a nothing shot from de Silva and he perishes. Good length ball that pitches outside off and seams away. De Silva pokes at it, gets a thick outside edge and Markram at second slip makes no mistake this time around 297/6
88.3 Cleans him up with a ripper. There are two types of leaves: this wasn't the good kind. Length ball outside off, nipping sharply back into Mendis. He does not account for the movement, fails to cover his off stump and shoulders arms. The ball hits the top of off stump. SA now into the tail 298/7
99.2 oh dear, that was absolutely mindless from Prabath. Steps out to heave across the line, the ball that's tossed up nicely outside off, spins away further to beat the batters' swing as the keeper affects the simplest of stampings. South Africa have a 30-run lead 328/10
88.5 Oh, my word Marco Jansen, take a bow! Good length ball shaping across Paterson, who throws his bat at it, gets a thick outside. The ball travels quickly to the left of Jansen at gully, who flings out his left hand and grabs a stunner. Third wicket of the over for Paterson. 298/8
98.4 nibbles at one that leaves him late and the edge is pouched comfortably by the keeper. The morning continues to get better for Paterson who now has a five-for. Just kept probing away outside off, Vishva has a daft at that, Verrenyne says 'thank you very much' 327/9

13.4 Through him! Floated outside off and lands it on the rough outside the left-hander's off stump. De Zorzi goes a drive, leaves a big gap between bat and pad and Jayasuriya sneaks through with a fuller ball that spins in sharply. De Zorzi's off stump is rattled and SL have the first breakthrough 55/1
24.3 that's a sensational catch by Kusal Mendis! A stunning one-handed grab that ends Markram's promise. Vishwa floats it up full and invites the drive, Markram decides to go for it but ends up getting a thick edge as Kusal takes a one-handed stunner diving to his right. These are the kind of catches that stick but full marks to Kusal Mendis for his anticipation. 96/2
29.1 skids one through on middle to beat Rickleton's attempted whip into the leg side, he's trapped plumb. Doesn't bother reviewing. That would've hit middle of middle. Jayasuriya knew the moment it hit the pad that Rickleton was gone. 109/3
60.5 such terrible running following a dreadful mix-up, the only way this partnership could've been broken. Temba pulls in front of square from outside off, turns for the second even as Karunaratne quickly gets to the ball and fires in the throw. Temba runs more than halfway down at which point they were both looking at each other with Stubbs left high and dry. An unlikely wicket that could yet spice things up for Sri Lanka. 213/4
71.4 Gets the prized scalp! Just what the doctor ordered. That spun back viciously out of the rough after landing outside leg-stump as Bavuma tried to pull that away and couldn't account for the turn. Fist pump from Jayasuriya who befuddles South Africa captain with his cunning spinning methods. Suddenly the voices go up as Sri Lanka search for more wickets 254/5
77.2 Jayasuriya bags another vital wicket! Lots of revs on the ball, gripping and spinning viciously from outside leg stump and he kept searching for it, ending up with a poke and the fielder at slip makes no mistake, pouches it safely. Excellent piece of bowling. Sri Lanka might consider pursuing with the old ball. 268/6
78.6 Back of a length, plugging away in the channel, induces an error. This is probing stuff. Hard length and just gets it to deviate a touch and Verreynne pokes at tentatively, nicking it. He was caught in two minds whether to leave it or play and that muddled thinking brought his demise. Sharp catch from the keeper; stellar glovework from Mendis 273/7
79.6 Jayasuriya has the last laugh, gets the fifer; stifled and strangling batters with his wizardry! Foxes him with a quicker delivery on leg, inviting him to go big and he obliges, Jansen eyed midwicket region but this time finds the fielder to perfection, not off the middle. Extracting maximum out of the rough and bringing all his experience to the fore. 279/8

82.4 what an eventful start post lunch! Smacks two, gets pinged on the head and is now taken out by a searing bouncer. There seems to be a definite noise as Rabada attempts to pull the short ball. This got big on him and flew off the top-edge to Kusal Mendis behind the stumps. Strangely a muted appeal from the bowler, but Sri Lanka eventually review. And the moment they do that, Rabada decides to walk. 290/9
85.6 cleans him up with a searing Yorker that hits the base of off-stump! Paterson didn't fancy himself getting behind the line, so exposes all three stumps to try and work up something, but misses this altogether. Sri Lanka need 348 for a series-levelling win 317/10

12.3 And just like that out of nowhere Paterson strikes! That loose from Nissanka. Tempted him with a short and wide delivery, he wanted to crunch that past point but ends up getting a fat edge to the keeper. This is an untimely dismissal for Sri Lanka because they were scoring at a decent run-rate and the partnership was blossoming. Now they'll have to restart and focus again 47/2
2.2 rapped on the pad and given! Karunaratne takes the review with 1 second left on the clock. Rabada gets this to bend back in from around the wicket to beat Karunaratne's inside. He was struck quite high, mind you, but because he was pinned to the crease the ball didn't have a lot of distance to travel. And because he's been given out on field it only needs to be clipping. Ball tracking comes back to show three reds, and so he'll have to go. 10/1
20.6 Thumping his pads and eliciting a vociferous lbw appeal, umpire likes it and raises the finger swiftly. Understandably, Sri Lanka review. Pitching outside off, impact is in line and it's clipping leg-stump. He was looking to defend it down the leg side but the ball zinged in and he couldn't get behind the line. Gritty resistance comes to an end. All smiles for South Africa, perfect start for them 64/3
31.5 Gottim with a beauty! That's a brain fade moment; Mathew too adventurous and trying to get a move on, wanted to bludgeon it over midwicket but the ball spun back viciously and clattered the stumps - hits the middle pole. Undone by extra flight, backed himself to take on the spinner, didn't pay off. Made an absolute mess of his stumps. Maharaj punches the air in ecstasy, got the prized scalp of Sri Lanka's former captain 117/4
33.1 Around the wicket, Maharaj produces a beauty, bowls a ripper on a length outside off and it spins back extravagantly as he tries to work it into the leg side and Verreynne dives forward to pluck out a one-handed stunner! Very sharp catch and wonderful bowling from Maharaj; South Africa comfortably tucked into the driving seat. Sri Lanka are falling apart after fighting well but two quick wickets have changed the complexion of this game and South Africa can sense a win. Sri Lanka will have to bat out of their skins to get closer to the target 122/5
61.3 There's the biiiig wicket. Is that the game? Good length ball tailing away from de Silva, who goes for a drive on the up, can only get a thick outside edge and Verreyenne has taken a simple catch 225/7
58.6 Has that carried? Markram is about 90% convinced he's held it, but Mendis is not going anywhere. Big moment in the game, this. Ooh, this is going to be close. One of those tricky ones for the third umpire. Looks like the fingers are underneath the ball. Yes, says the third umpire and Maharaj has struck a telling blow. Gently floated up outside off, with a hint of turn away from Mendis. He gets a nice stride forward, but does not cover the spin and gets a thick outside edge. He did play with soft hands with the edge going low to Markram at slip, but he dived forward and ensured that he held the catch cleanly 219/6
64.6 Oh, my word! How has Maharaj got a wicket with that ball? Rank long hop well outside off. Jayasuriya eyes light up as he looks to pummel it to next week. Ends up smoking it straight into the hands of Bavuma at extra cover. Maharaj throws back his head and laughs. Jayasuriya can't believe what he has done 233/8
68.5 can't resist temptation to give it some hokey-pokey! Winds up to slog across the line, doesn't get to the pitch of the ball and ends up hitting it straight up as Jansen takes a good catch at mid-on! A five-wicket haul for Keshav Maharaj, his 11th in Tests 238/9
69.1 who wants that? Mine says Rickleton at short midwicket and he takes the catch. Kumara has a wild slog at this short ball well-executed at head-height outside off, he ends up getting a big, fat top-edge that swirls around a fair bit, but Rickleton has it well covered as he runs back a few steps and takes it with his palms facing upwards. Fist pumps and celebration in the South African camp as they take the series 2-0 238/10
