6.25pm Right, that'll do for tonight. Firdose's report will be here shortly. From Miller, Matt and Sudeep, good night!

6.17pm And that will be stumps. It's been a hard-fought day, but England have edged it in the final analysis, after that dramatic collapse of 7 for 44 in South Africa's first innings. Maia Bouchier's 19-ball duck was a change from her record-paced century in the first innings, but Knight provided some late impetus alongside a steadfast Beaumont. The lead is a handy 145 overnight, and with six sessions remaining, they will probably look to bat to lunch then assess where they are. Four sessions, and a target close to 350? That might be the ideal.

Lauren Bell is talking to TMS: "It's been a great day, we'd have taken that at the start, they had patches of good partnerships, we're really happy. Kookaburra doesn't swing for ages up top, so about repeating as much as possible. Missing Crossy is a massive loss, but our roles as bowlers stay similar. My job is to swing it and take new-ball wickets and Filer's is to bowl fast. The pitch is giving us movement and the wobble ball is wobbling. We're playing in a country with similar conditions to Australia, so it's really important. We've said at the start of the game how amazing a result is in Test cricket. Things can change very quickly but we'll take it an hour at a time."

"Hot," says Firdose. "No rain forecast. Weds may be a little cloudy but the wind seems to be going away." Hurrah!

paul: "What is the weather doing for the remainder of the test guys? England can bat one day and bowl the other I reckon" Not sure, to be honest. Have to leave that detail to Firdose...

Mark: "237-3 to 281ao? That has given England a chance to declare a second time, setting a huge target. What is the biggest successful chase in a Womans' Test?" Might be more prudent to dangle a carrot... only a four-day Test after all. Looks like 198 is the highest successful chase...
