No prizes for guessing the player of the match. Sherfane Rutherford: "[On his purple patch] The key is to work hard on your game. I'm doing everything I can to be disciplined and give myself the best chance of performing well. [On planning his innings] At first I tried to hit the gaps, play with good intent and run well. I knew I can always make up at the end even if I start slow. [On taking body blows] It's part of the game. You take a few blows for the team. As soon as I get in I realise I can take it on. [On his partnership with Hope] It was good. He told me to take it deep. I'm looking to be consistent, and with the grace of God, hopefully I'll continue to score runs."

Shai Hope: "Just the way the guys went out there and showed we wanted to turn around that 11-game streak. We spoke about that quite a bit. [Chase] wasn't getting much turn on the pitch. We had the luxury of Justin Greaves and there was more on offer for pace. [On Rutherford] I think he's really improved his batting. We ask for consistency, we always speak about it, and he's showing that. He strikes the ball really well and the hard work is paying off in the middle. He was disappointed not to finish the game. We ask batters to put their hands up and put up big scores more often. The top three, top four need to put their hands up. We want to continue, not relax, we have to stay as consistent as possible."

Mehidy Hasan Miraz: "[On their total] Yes we were satisfied. 294 is a very good score on this kind of pitch. Credit to them, especially Hope and Rutherford. They got a partnership on this wicket. It was a tough day for our bowlers. We started really well, especially Nahid and Taskin and Tanzim, they bowled really well. But after that we didn't bowl well in the middle overs, we didn't get wickets. It can happen, but still wicket was looking good and they played well. We'll learn from so many things. We made some mistakes. We'll focus on how to get better in the next matches. We have two matches left, so I think we have a good chance."

5.35pm West Indies complete the highest successful chase at this ground - and post the highest second-innings total here as well - thanks to crucial knocks from Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford, to end Bangladesh's 11-game winning run against them. Bangladesh's bowlers started well and when they were choking West Indies for runs, it looked like their total of 294, built on the backs of fifties from Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Tanzid Hasan and Mahmadullah as well as Jaker Ali's 48, would be enough. But Hope and Rutherford's 99-run stand changed the momentum and Rutherford, with four consecutive fifties before this match, turned his fifth consecutive 50-plus score into his maiden ODI century. What a start he has had to his 50-over career! West Indies will be chuffed to keep up their momentum in ODIs, while Bangladesh will wonder why their bowlers couldn't finish the job while being in a strong position at one point. What a knock that was from Rutherford. He had a slow-ish start, coming in when the pressure was building on West Indies, took two blows to the helmet, but kept going and paced his innings to perfection as well, with Shai Hope playing the perfect foil. Hope himself was authoritative from the get-go, doing his best to ensure West Indies didn't slow down too much. He got close to a century too, but even his dismissal couldn't slow West Indies down. By that time, Rutherford had changed gears and batting beautifully, and Justin Greaves hit the ground running as well. That middle and lower-middle order looking really good for West Indies right now!
