10pm Right then, that's another comprehensive victory for India, and now maybe they have two games where they can experiment or challenge themselves as they see fit. Right now, I am sure they will want to go back and celebrate another series win. Things are on the up and up for Harmanpreet Kaur and her team. That's all from us today. You can head over to Sruthi's report for a detailed recap of how the game went. On behalf of Ranjith, Sudeep and everyone else at ESPNcricinfo, it's Abhimanyu signing off.
9.48pm Time for the presentation ceremony.
Who will be the player of the match? It is indeed Renuka Singh. Here's what she has to say: "Very happy. I never get five wickets, it's always four. So maybe I'll have to work harder to get a five-for as they are rare for me. I go to the NCA to prepare for any tournament because it works for me. I can do some extra work on my bowling and fitness and that helps me execute better. [On using variations] For the last six months to a year I have been working on my variations because I knew the World Cup was coming up. There shouldn't be a doubt in my head so I want to be mentally prepared. I know that if my first over doesn't go well, I know I have to come back strong. I just kept thinking what kind of ball would get me wickets on this pitch. [Harmanpreet] was fully motivating me. But I remember Jhulu di's [Jhulan Goswami] words that you have to work harder for a five-wicket haul."
Harmanpreet Kaur: "It was a great series for all of us. That's what we discussed after the World Cup that we have to raise our standard and be more aggressive in T20s because the WC is coming up so very happy with our overall performances. I think the contribution from our bowlers [has been a highlight] because in T20 cricket, the bowling is very important. Today we are in this position because of our bowlers so credit goes to them. [On rotating bowlers in powerplay] First six overs, we know their top order was very important so today we wanted to go with Renuka because she can give us these breakthroughs. First over wasn't something we expected but the way she came back and picked four wickets was great."
Chamari Athapaththu: "I feel we are not playing our best cricket throughout the tournament. As a batting unit we have struggled a lot so we need to improve there. We have played the best batting unit we have been using and we have tried some things with the bowling unit but we haven't been able to work out. Imesha Dulani batted really good today and Kavisha also batted well. These were the positives but we are still looking to try some players before the World Cup."
Shafali Verma scored 68.69% of India's runs today, which is the highest percentage of runs scored by a single batter in a completed innings for India. Deep has more details for you all:
Highest % of runs in a completed inns for India in T20Is
68.7% - Shefali Verma, Today 66.1% - Harmanpreet v Aus, 2011 60.3% - Mithali v Pak, 2016
9.40pm Another day, another dominant performance by India in this series. Renuka Singh, brought in as a powerplay threat, started poorly but then came back to finish with four wickets as Sri Lanka were restricted to 112 despite what looked like a good start after the first five overs. Deepti Sharma was crucial again, with three wickets that makes her the joint-highest wicket-taker in women's T20Is. Kranti Gaud was also impressive, giving away just eight runs in her first three overs, before leaking a few in her last. Despite her not getting a wicket, she helped build pressure from early on and should be happy with that display. After that, it was all about Shafali Verma, who followed up her knock of 69 not out by going 10 better as she took apart the bowlers. Eleven fours and three sixes she hit, while not offering a single chance to Sri Lanka. Kavisha Dilhari put in an impressive all-round display, but it was not nearly good enough to give her team a chance. And India have taken an unassailable lead in this series.
This year, success has been fairly sparse in a large number of sports for Indian athletes. But there were a host of young athletes who staked their claim as the next generation of their respective sports.
Chirag: "As much as I agree to bowler's contribution to the match, we need to admit that Shefali made the chase look easy when India lost 2 wickets cheaply. Without her massive contribution maybe we had a different outcome. So the POTM choice does not look so easy to me."
Raji: "Hope Renuka or Deepti gets the POTM award not Shafali. " -- Yep, the bowlers set this up beautifully
Shehani will bowl what should be the last over of this match
India one hit away
