Toss India chose to bowl vs Sri Lanka
Deepti Sharma, the new top-ranked T20I bowler, was ruled out of India's second T20I against Sri Lanka in Visakhapatnam with mild fever.
Harmanpreet Kaur won her second toss in a row, joked that "winning the toss is not my cup of tea", and asked Sri Lanka to bat again at the same venue where India had registered an eight-wicket win on Sunday.
Offspin allrounder Sneh Rana replaced Deepti in India's XI, which continued to have batting depth all the way down, with Kranti Gaud, Vaishnavi Sharma and N Shree Charani listed at Nos. 9. 10 and 11. Rana had played in four of the five T20Is in England earlier in the year, but was wicketless in each of them.
Despite being outplayed with bat and ball in the opening game of the five-match series, Sri Lanka picked the same XI that lost on Sunday Ambidextrous wristspinner Shashini Gimhani, who conceded 32 in two overs in the first game, got another chance and will have to contend once again with heavy dew.
