On behalf of Sriram Veera and the rest of the crew, this is Nitin Sundar signing off. It's sudden death from now on, seven cracking games ahead of us. Join us for the fun. See you all, there!

That's about it then for tonight. After all that fuss, we have narrowed down from 14 teams to eight. How many predicted that these very teams would make the knockouts? Here's the QF line-up just to reiterate - Pak-WI, Mirpur, 23rd | Ind-Aus, Motera, 24th | NZ-SA, Mirpur, 25th | SL-Eng, Colombo, 26th. Here is Sid Monga's bulletin, it's getting updated at the moment.

Yuvraj is the Man of the Match. Three MoMs in one World Cup. I doubt if that's been done before. "It's been good, I went in and was middling the ball, so happy with the way it went. When you lose early wickets, you need a partnership going. Me and Virat took us to 220, very happy with the way it went. I was getting stomach cramps, but wanted to bat till the end. Very happy with the team effort today. We have our batting plans. Our batting is going well, once we get the bowling and fielding going we should be ok. Looking forward to the Aussies."

Dhoni: "It's a pleasure playing in Chennai .. Whole 50 overs are important, until the 50th over you got yo be at your best. The game really changed once Zaheer gave us the breakthrough, until then Devon was batting really well. After that we could put pressure on both sides, and got more wickets than we needed. There is a gradual improvement (from 7 for 29 to 7 for 51) I am sure we will be at our best in the quarters. That's the positive I will take out of this. Being in the present is a better option that thinking of the past or worrying about the future." Dhoni at his philosophical best there.

Sammy: "Rampaul was really good in his first game ... but we could not find our A game. Hope to do that in Dhaka against Pakistan."

QF line-up: 24th - Ind v Aus in Ahd, 26th - Eng v SL in Colombo, WI-Pak and SA-NZ will play in Mirpur, one of them on 23rd and other on 25th. Still not sure which of those two games will be played on which day.

Zaheer, probably said this unintentionally: "As a bowling unit, I think I am doing well." But he gets it right. If not for Zaheer, India would have capsized today. The Smith dismissal changed the course of this game completely.

Nishu: "West indies returned the favour to india by giving 3 more wicket... india 28 runs 5 wicket and west indies 28 runs 8 wickets."

Ashwin to Rampaul, OUT, India have finally beaten one of the top teams in the World Cup. West Indies go into the quarters without a single win. Straight armer from Ashwin, slips past the ugliest of leg-side heaves and crashes into the furniture. Great World Cup debut for Ashwin, one of the things that went right for India today. In the end, they have managed to pull off a rather convincing win.

Khan to Bishoo, FOUR, interesting shot from the small-built Bishoo. Stands up to the bounce of a hustling short ball and politely opens the face to upper cut rather well, almost all the way to third man

You have to feel for Ravi Rampaul. He deserved to be in the winning team today. He's out there at No. 11.

Khan to Sarwan, OUT, Sarwan came in to an even game, has seen the pressure mount around him, and has now exited in a whimper. Back of a length from Zaheer, angling the slower ball across at 119 kph, Sarwan tries to stay back on the crease and manufacture a carved boundary over the off side. Ashwin, was however, placed on the cover boundary and easily ran across to pouch the uppish slap.
