10.05pm: Right, that's all we have for you from this BBL game. Do tune in tomorrow since the competition is only getting started. And of course, there's plenty of cricket happening the world over anyway. On behalf of Peter Della Penna and Ranjith P, this is Saurabh Somani, signing off.

Wes Agar is the Player of the Match: We knew we were bowling really well. In any T20 game you'll have batters getting away from you, but we discussed using our change-ups and we stuck to that. Luckily it paid off. (being 20-30 runs short) It was just a matter of putting the pressure on. We know we've got a very good bowling attack. We knew we could defend that total, have done it plenty of times at Adelaide Oval. For me the main thing is keeping it simple. When I'm not thinking too much, I'm bowling well. Hitting my hard length which has worked for me in the past. Have got a wealth of experience in Worral and Siddle, so that helps me as well. (Rashid) He's amazing. One period they needed 8.5 and end of the over they needed 10.

9.58pm: Comprehensive win for Strikers. Who would have thought they'd win by 49 runs when they were bowled out for 149. The Renegades batting limped throughout, never getting control of the chase. The bowling was tight and penetrative. Good knocks from Wells and Short, and nuggety contributions by the rest. The bowling was led by Rashid, the magician. Wes Agar got three wickets and bowled well too, while Worrall also got a couple.

Worrall to Zahir Khan, OUT, off-stump knocked out. Full and angled into off stump, he's backing away and looking to drive through cover, but nowhere near ball as it cannons into the stumps.

Zahir Khan b Worrall 0 (5m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Round the wicket to the left-handed Zahir.

Worrall to Topley, 1 run, slower ball, length and into him, backing away again, has to wait for it and mis-times his pull, as the ball trickles through midwicket

Worrall to Topley, no run, back of a length outside off again. Swing and a miss again

Worrall to Topley, no run, back of a length outside off, backs away to swing at it, only connects with air

Siddle to Zahir Khan, no run, keeps it outside off angling across, he swings the bat more in hope than with conviction and can't connect
17.5

Siddle to Zahir Khan, no run, backs away, looks to carve it over cover, but can't connect as the ball passes outside edge. There was a noise as it went past actually but neither keeper nor bowler appealed so maybe bat hitting ground

W
Siddle to Richardson, OUT, down the track, ends up convering it to a highish full toss, it's angled into him so there's no room either, and he can only slice an attempted swat straight to mid-off

KW Richardson c Garton b Siddle 4 (18m 8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

17.3
1
Siddle to Topley, 1 run, nails the yorker again, this time the batter gets a thin bottom edge off his attempted swing that rolls in front of the keeper to his left, he runs in to field it but there's enough time to sneak a single

Siddle to Topley, no run, yorker on leg stump, goes under his bat as he makes room and looks to swing it over long-on
17.1

Siddle to Topley, no run, misses the yorker, low full toss on leg stump, batter's making room to try and whack it, ends up slapping it back to Siddle

Muzaffar: "It was the case last season and the trend seems to be continuing here... why oh why are teams leaving their Power Surge until it is too late and the game is completely out of their hands...!?! Such a baffling tactic from all teams, displayed perfectly by the Renegades this evening"

END OF OVER:

Rashid Khan to Richardson, no run, fullish, goes for the slog sweep again, bottom half of the bat, rolls to square leg. Rashid ends an excellent spell - which is his default setting - with a dot ball

Harry goes snarky but on point perhaps: "You would think that the Renegades' tail enders would be good batters by now with all the time they seem to be getting to bat."

16.5
1
Rashid Khan to Topley, 1 run, topspinner skids onto him, he's hurried into the pull, again gets it much straighter than he wanted, hits the stumps and rolls to midwicket. They sprint the single and Richardson puts in a full-length dive at the striker's end to beat the throw to the stumps. Fairly long time to adjudicate that, even though he seemed to be well in to me
16.4
4
Rashid Khan to Topley, FOUR, googly again, was backing away, don't think he read it at all, just thumped it with a flat bat and because he hadn't read it, went much straighter, bisected bowler and mid-off and into the boundary
16.3
1
Rashid Khan to Richardson, 1 run, manages to connect with the sweep, and hits it fairly well, but there's a fielder at deep midwicket to clean up
16.2

Rashid Khan to Topley, 1 run, another googly, he didn't read it at all, was looking to thrash it through cover, comes off the high part of the bat towards mid-off
16.1

Rashid Khan to Topley, no run, googly on a length, looking to pull it, gets it off the bottom half and the ball rolls towards square leg

and now the Power Surge is taken. Rashid comes back too. Lower order against Rashid with more fielders in - sounds like this favours Strikers more
