8.34pm That will be it for this match, but there's more BBL action on at the Sydney Showground Stadium where the Adelaide Strikers are taking on Sydney Thunder. This is Abhimanyu signing off on behalf of Alex Malcolm, Ranjith P and Chandan Duorah. Goodnight!

8.31pm Well, that was a comprehensive performance from the Melbourne Stars. Joe Clarke's brilliant unbeaten 101 set them up with a big total before the bowlers ensured the Hurricanes never got into the game. They bowled well in the Powerplay and then struck in regular intervals to keep pegging Hobart back. Stars skipper Zampa led the way with a three-wicket haul, while left-arm pacer Luke Wood also picked up three. Nathan Coulter-Nile also grabbed a couple and Trent Boult got one right at the end. The Stars will be happy to have won on a day that they honoured the late Shane Warne at the MCG. They lost their first game of the season by just one wicket in a last-ball thriller, but have bounced back very well with a commanding victory here.
