Player of the Match Ashton Turner for his 84: "Satisfying to get over the line, especially after last year's final. We can still play the Sixers in the final, you never know, but satisfying that we can stay in Perth for the final. (Bancroft partnership) We know the wicket can be tricky with the new ball. But we have played here long enough to know you still have to be positive, score quickly. We've chased totals well all year. (Consistency) Confidence is a wonderful thing. When you have it, you should cash it. I haven't had to bat a lot with Inglis and Hardie scoring their runs, so confidence can dissipate if you don't bat much. But confident batting in Perth."
7.15pm The Sixers' total of 151 is never quite enough but once Abbott got those three wickets, there was a sense that we would see a great target defense. But that didn't happen as the partnership built by these two pals navigated the Scorchers out of real trouble. Sixers live to fight another day but they will not have Steven Smith in their next fixture.
7.12pm Four-time BBL champions Perth Scorchers are just one game away from adding another trophy to their cabinet. They made the most of the home crowd today, who acted as the 12th man to lift Bancroft and Turner through this partnership. What a recovery, from 22 for 3 to 154 for 3.
The Sixers are not eliminated though. They will meet the winner of Renegades v Heat, and the winner of that fixture will join Scorchers in the grand final.
Game is over. Now we're here to just make it official and see if Bancroft can get to fifty as well. Over 41000 people enjoyed the game, seeing their home team deliver a rollercoaster ride.
