That concludes our work for today. I hope that was enjoyable to all of you. See you at the next game. On behalf of the entire crew, I'm signing off.
Player of the Match Jimmy Peirson: "So pleasing to get the job done against them (Melbourne Stars). They will go well (teammates) and enjoy the competition this year. The basics were really good. Our bowling was not good that much last year so yeah it was obviously a red flag but I was backing the team to restrict them under 160. We had a good side, and the target was good too. They're all pleased to get down, a little bit scratchy but we've got down there. (Lot of Queensland elements in the team) Yeah, we knew the basics would get the job done. Like I said. Pleased to see Maxie (Bryant) back in the side after missing out most of the last year, with a strong outfield player in every game so if you're going to come and have impacts straight away, it was fantastic."
In this BBL season, the side batting second has already won four straight games! Despite missing many of the team's top players, the Brisbane Heat won the game convincingly. When facing the Melbourne Stars bowlers, they never seemed to have any problems. The groundwork was established by Wood and Peirson's first partnership of 55 runs. The Brisbane Heat won their opening game of the season Peirson and Bryant batted comfortably, striking the Melbourne Stars bowlers all over the ground. However, the Melbourne Stars' dropped chances, sloppy body language in the field and missed fielding give the impression that they are not very driven. After losing consecutive games, the home team will need to make a great recovery in every area to turn things around.
Brisbane Heat won the match by 8 wickets
