That's all we have to offer today, people. I'm going to sign off for today. See you later.
Player of the Match Lloyd Pope: "Good to get the first one on the board. Especially after the last game which was a little bit disappointing. So yeah, I thought everyone chipped in really well tonight on a pretty tough wicket. D'Arcy batted really well as well. To be honest, I did not talk too much to the bowlers. I only told it to Boyce here who had a spin, just trying to do the basics right. I'm pretty sure that sort of quicks will be doing as well. It is nice (POTM Award). Obviously, it wasn't my best over (previous match). Sams did play pretty well. But yeah as you said to come back and in front of the home crowd, these guys are amazing (fans). So yeah, really happy to put up a performance on the board. Yes and no (Previous match experience). Some pretty nasty things out there so that's just the way cricket goes. I mean ride the highs and ride the lows. But I am just trying to keep it even."
In this BBL season, the side batting first has finally won a match, ending the skid. Stoinis and Harper's partnership at number three helped the Melbourne Stars get off to a good start. They rapidly fell apart after losing the captain's wicket, and the asking rate climbed. The Strikers bowlers did a fantastic job keeping the Melbourne Stars batters in check. Thornton, Short, and Boyce all bolwed well. Pope, however, was the main attraction. What a change Lloyd Pope made! Sams hit him for 31 runs the previous night, and he is the Strikers' main man tonight, ended the game with a 3/21 bowling figure. Their performance will make the Strikers very satisfied. However, with three games played and no win in sight, the Stars have a lot to be concerned about.
Adelaide Strikers win by 15 runs
