10:45pm That will be all from us for this game. A proper rollercoaster that, until the last moment, had everyone hooked. The Sixers, like they do often, found a way and that has taken them to the top of the table (for now). We will be back with more BBL action soon, and until then, this is goodbye from all of us here at ESPNcricinfo!

Ben Dwarshuis, Player of the Match: You play the game to be in those moments. Silk and I were there, we wanted to enjoy it and do our best. That was one of our better (wins). I was mis-hitting them well into the gaps (laughs). Credit to Green for the way he bowled the last over, he made us wait until the end. Just wanted to stay still, watch and react, and trust my hands to get the job done. Got a really nice bat, and just trying to swing hard after staying still. Nice to connect a few. (On his bowling) Bit disappointed with my first two overs but nice to bounce back (later in the innings). To pick up two wickets during the Surge was nice. Spoken about a lot - the rivalry between the two teams and it was nice to be able to win on their home turf.

10:39pm Phew. What a game of cricket. It ebbed and flowed until the last two balls. Seven were needed off two, and then, Dwarshuis played the shot of his dreams. A clean strike (albeit off a low full toss) that sailed over the fence and leveled the scores, further illustrating just how fine the margins can be in the BBL. Take no credit away from Silk either, who walked in when the chase was flagging and found the fence just when his team needed him to. Prior to that, Philippe and Edwards produced useful cameos to keep the chase ticking.

The Thunder left everything out on the field as well. They made the Sixers scrap for every run and effected two run-outs that, on another day, may have proved pivotal. The one thing they gamble on (and probably got wrong) was to hold one of Green's overs back and that came back to haunt them, especially with the game still on the line in the 20th over. Lots of positives to take, though, even if they have handed bragging rights over to their cross-town rivals.

1
Green to Dwarshuis, 1 run, smart, smart batting by Dwarshuis, and he is delighted! The Sixers pull another win out of the fire and this team somehow keeps finding ways to triumph under pressure! Back of a length on middle and leg. Dwarshuis does not try anything fancy and plays the old-fashioned nurdle into the on side. Silk knew that was on the cards and hurtles across to complete the run, with Dwarshuis doing so soon after. Spare a thought for the Thunder and Green, but just when push came to shove, they cracked, and Dwarshuis was adept enough to capitalize!

Scores level. A dot or a wicket and we go into...you know it. Anything else, and the Sixers are home and dry. Almost everyone up in the ring. Deep mid wicket the sole fielder out

6
Green to Dwarshuis, SIX, Dwarshuis finds the fence, and he finds the moon too! That is a massive, massive shot under pressure! Green blinks first and bowls a full toss outside off. Dwarshuis cannot believe his luck and smears it high and long over the wide long on fence!

7 off 2. Can Dwarshuis find the fence now, under this sort of pressure?

19.4
1
Green to Silk, 1 run, full and wide outside off. Would have been a wide had Silk not made contact but he does make contact, getting a thick outside edge to short third. Just a single

8 off 3

19.4
1w
Green to Silk, 1 wide, nails the wide yorker this time, and Silk swishes and misses. But hang on. The umpire calls it a wide. Seemed to be touch-and-go, and the umpire went the other way. On second glance, that was perhaps just outside the tramlines

9 off 3

19.4
1w
Green to Silk, 1 wide, goes for the wide yorker and bowls it beyond the tramlines. Silk holds his nerve and lets it go. Called a wide

Silk on strike. 10 off 3. Can he line up the off-spinner? Pretty sure this will be another dart from Green and possibly into the blockhole. Over the wicket

19.3
1
Green to Dwarshuis, 1 run, into the blockhole outside off. Dwarshuis digs it out towards deep cover and this time, the Sixers cannot come back for the second

11 off 4. Sixers need to find the fence, right about now

19.2
2
Green to Dwarshuis, 2 runs, hides it full and wide outside off again. Dwarshuis laces it towards deep extra cover and Silk is rapid enough to tear back for the second
19.1
2
Green to Dwarshuis, 2 runs, full and wide outside off. Dwarshuis throws the kitchen sink at it and slices it over cover for a couple of runs

15 needed off the last over. Green to bowl. Dwarshuis on strike. A boundary early in the over will really put Green and the Thunder under the cosh. Around the wicket - here we go!

1
Ferguson to Dwarshuis, 1 run, slower ball that lands right in the slot on off stump. Dwarshuis drills it towards mid off and hares across to keep strike
18.5
1
Ferguson to Silk, 1 run, another slower ball, into the track outside off. Silk swings like a rusty gate and shanks it towards short fine leg
18.4
0
Ferguson to Silk, no run, off-pace on a length just outside off. Silk does not pick it and swings a week early. Makes no contact and might have lost his off stump on another day

17 off 9. Still anyone's game

18.3
1
Ferguson to Dwarshuis, 1 run, fullish on the pads. Dwarshuis works it away towards deep backward square leg and has to settle for a single this time
18.2
6
Ferguson to Dwarshuis, SIX, oh, hello! That is an enormous hit! Right in the slot outside off and Dwarshuis climbs into it. Gets his front foot out of the way and clatters it over long on! A 101m six, if you don't mind!

Dwarshuis walks in. He can hit the ball a mile

18.1
W
Ferguson to Shaw, OUT, stumps go splat, and Ferguson punches the air in delight! Slower ball, you-miss-I-hit stuff from Ferguson. Angles into middle and off and Shaw has no option but to go after it. Swings wildly and misses, and hears the death rattle soon after. Ferguson amps up the pressure on the Sixers!

24 off 12. Green and Ferguson have an over left apiece. Ferguson to bowl the 19th

Sams to Silk, FOUR, gets this away! A loose ball to end what was otherwise a great over. Full ball down leg and Silk gets under it to pop it over short fine leg!
17.5
0
Sams to Silk, no run, cutter on a back of a length wide outside off. Silk lets it go, hoping for the wide but does not get any favours from the umpire. Seems like the right call too

This has been a good over so far for the bowling side. 28 off 14. Back to two-a-ball

17.4
1
Sams to Shaw, 1 run, slower bumper, finishing just outside off. Shaw drags it towards deep mid wicket
17.3
0
Sams to Shaw, no run, oh! It is all happening here! Another superbly-disguised slower ball, pitching on a full length on off. Shaw does not read it at all and plonks it back towards Sams. He sprawls to his left like a goalkeeper but cannot quite get there
17.2
1
Sams to Silk, 1 run, full on the pads. Silk works it away towards deep mid wicket and has to settle for a single. Good work on the fence by Konstas
17.1
0
Sams to Silk, no run, almost! Slower ball on a full length on middle and leg. Silk is a touch early into his stroke and smacks it back at Sams. He gets both hands to it to his right but cannot make it stick. Tough chance

30 off 18, and that last over might have just swung the pendulum back in the Sixers' favour. Sams to bowl. The Thunder will not mind if he can get the better of Silk

McAndrew to Silk, 1 run, low full toss on off. Silk jams down on it and drills it towards mid on. Keeps strike too
16.5
4
McAndrew to Silk, FOUR, Silk is turning it on! Very similar to the last ball. Almost a half-hearted bumper and with this sitting up, Silk pulverizes it past deep mid wicket!
16.4
4
McAndrew to Silk, FOUR, follows up the six with a four! Another attempted short ball but this ends up being a half-tracker. Silk backs away and then swats it past mid on!
16.3
6
McAndrew to Silk, SIX, pick the bones out of this one! Length on middle and leg, and that is just the length Silk is after. Opens up his front hip and smokes it clean over cow corner!
16.2
1
McAndrew to Shaw, 1 run, another short ball, climbing up towards the shoulder on leg stump. Shaw gloves it down to short fine leg
