Player of the Match Nathan McSweeney: "I thought Matty Renshaw played really well. Allowed me to just get used to the conditions and get on strike. And yeah, he was immense for us and then took the Power Surge, and lucky it went my way. And yeah, it's nice to get the boys home. Um, it probably wasn't, you know, part of the Wicket, probably wasn't as true as the normal Gabba. So yeah, it's a really good win for us. Yeah. It's it's always nice to bounce back. Um, I love my time on the Australian Cricket team. You know sharing the changing room with some of Australia's best players was awesome. And yeah hopefully I can continue to get better and learn from my experiences and and get back there. (Advice for the young players out there) Yeah, probably a common message from a lot of experts, and Marnus (Labuschagne) in particular, just said it's not where it starts, it's where it ends. I think, oh, a good story always has its ups and downs and hopefully mine can. Um, yeah, when I finish and I'm all done, I can look back on this and it was a great learning curve. And, um, yeah, I really bounced back from it. Yeah, Brisbane is my home. I grew up here in my family and friends are all living up here, so it's nice to get back, and do it in front of the home crowd. (Run Chase) Yeah, I think the depth of our squad has been shown, you know, Spencer is on the sidelines and Michael Nasser, who as you know, those two were immense for us last year, so some young Quicks now and, um, yeah, it's exciting to see."

It was a really competitive contest! With two wins in two games, the Brisbane Heat jumps to the top of the standings. Both of their opening batters fell early. Following that, Matt Renshaw scored 54 runs off 27 balls with his trademark hitting throughout the ground. However, after being removed from the test side, Nathan McSweeney, his partner in the crease, had a lot to prove, and he did it well! The Heat somewhat lost their way after losing Renshaw's wicket. But McSweeney's 16 runs off Thornton during the Power Surge completely turned the tide of the match in their favour. With 78 runs off of 49 balls, McSweeney remained not out. Nevertheless, a few wickets were lost in a late turn of events. Despite Lloyd Pope's outstanding middle bowling, the Strikers were unable to win the match. The game may have been decided for the Strikers if Scott had not missed a run out in the last over! There were a lot of ifs and buts in the close game, but the Heat batters remained composed and won in front of the home fans.
