We're done for the day. The BBL will now take two days off for Christmas. I hope everyone has a wonderful celebration of Christmas. I'm signing off on behalf of the team, myself, Rashad, and Thilak.
Player of the Match Tom Rogers: "Thank you. I thought, um, Cooper Connolly deserved it from the losing side of the night, played a hell of a knock scoring 60 or 70 out there, so, um, it was a tight little game in the end. Yeah, yeah, very much. So the last two games have been slightly bowling in the right areas. (Pitch) Yeah, I think that the outfield has remained quite similar for the last few years. It gets a pretty top-class facility in that. It's hosting phenomenal events throughout the year and the grounds staff are doing a pretty good job to get it up and running, it might not look amazing for the first game or two. And then the wicket was well on 140 runs. Um, both teams did pretty good. Yeah. I think there was, um, you know, a little bit of excitement leading in, um, with the list we got. We're on a nice squad put together. Um, But you know, it's it means nothing. If you're not getting out there and getting the win. Unfortunately, after I um, you know, a disappointing performance in the first game, I think, um, you know, particularly the bowlers wanted to come back and improve from that and help the team out. And fortunately, we're heading into Christmas feeling slightly better than after the first game."
Mustafa Moudi: "Gotta Feel sad for Cooper Connolly, who tops the MVP list that is otherwise dominated by the MR Players. Wish somebody else had stepped up from Perth !!"
Renegades crosses the line as a fantastic, exhilarating game comes to a close. The Renegades lost JFM early in the first over, but Seifert provided them an early start. Following Seifert's dismissal, Bethell and Evans were making good progress towards the 144-run target. However, the run rate decreased following Bethell's departure. Agar and Connolly's spin bowling in the middle overs nearly gave the Perth Scorchers the advantage in the match. The momentum of the action shifted from one side to the other, and there were several near chances. Agar missed a run out, Connolly missed a run out and a catch, and Inglis dropped a catch too. This match had a lot of narrow margins. Ultimately, though, Sutherland and his teammates were able to remain composed and win the match. The remaining five wickets were divided among the five bowlers, with Behrendorff taking two.The Melbourne Renegades take the top spot in the table with their victory, while the Perth Scorchers remain in fourth place.
James : "Well, the pitch might be a bit dodgy, but it produced a very entertaining and competitive game. "
Melbourne Renegades won the match by two wickets
