7:15pm Uh, oh! The wet weather has had the final say as this Sixers-Heat game has been called off without a bat flip. Unfortunate. But don't go away too far. The weather in Perth is all good and we should have a good game there between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder. Do join us for that. Ciao!

6:40pm Well, that joy was short-lived because the rain has returned and it is quite heavy. We continue with our waiting game then...

Meanwhile, you can stay up-to-date with all the happenings in this competition with our BBL newsfile. The latest in that is that Josh Inglis has been ruled out of BBL 14

6:28pm Covers starting to come off as the rain has stopped now. Players also emerge to start their warm-ups now

6:23pm The intensity of rain has reduced. It is a bit brighter out there too. But, as we know, the rain will have to completely stop for the mop-up to start

6:15pm Nothing more to add really. The rain makes us wait for the bat flip in Coffs Harbour

5:33pm It is pelting down in Coffs Harbour at the moment. The wait for toss continues. Just checked the weather app, which tells me that the chances of shower through the evening is a little less. Not sure about how much we can rely on that as of now...

5:15pm A riveting passage of play in progress in Sydney, even as Sydney Sixers prepare to host Brisbane Heat in the BBL 14 clash, just days after the sides last met in Brisbane. Sixers were on a roll then with an unbeaten run while the defending champs Heat were - and still are - struggling to notch up a win after their second outing. Sixers head into this clash on the back of a loss to Hobart Hurricanes. They will want to quickly get back to accumulating points. But for that, the rain in Coffs Harbour has to relent. The pitch and the adjoining areas are firmly under covers. Do hang around though, as I, S Sudarshanan, will get to you all the action from the first BBL game today
