10:36pm That will be all from us for today. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and we hope to have your company again. Until next time, this is goodbye from Chandan and myself. Take care, everyone!

Tim David, Player of the Match: I said to Nicky (Nikhil Chaudhary) I cannot hit the ball tonight, lucky that I got on a roll. We knew it was going to be a good batting pitch. Nice to get some runs out here. Love batting here under the lights. We (as a team) spoke a lot before the season. We have been disappointed with the last couple of times (seasons and how they went). We have found a template (that is working well for us) and the business end is coming up, and that is what we want to be primed for.

10:30pm A hurricane knock by Tim David, and that is the major story of this run-chase. He walked in when the hosts were wobbling a bit, having lost three wickets in quick succession. But the Power Surge brought David and their run-chase to life. He smashed Overton for 26 in the second over of the surge and that proved to be the turning point of the encounter. Owen and Wade did their jobs too at the top of the order, ensuring that the Hurricanes were ahead of the game post the first six overs.

Plenty to pick apart from a Strikers POV. They conceded way too many boundaries in the powerplay and their decision-making, when it came to who bowled in the Power Surge, also left a bit to be desired, given how well their spinners were bowling. Speaking of the spinners, Lloyd and Boyce did everything they could to haul the Strikers back, but unfortunately for them, the pacers could not back it up.

Doggett to Jordan, FOUR, one ball is all it takes for Chris Jordan to seal the deal for the Hurricanes! Four wins in a row now, and the Hurricanes surge closer to the perch of the table, even as the Strikers languish at the other end! Low full toss on the pads and if there was a ball Jordan was hoping for, this might have been it. Gets the faintest of tickles and beats the keeper and short fine leg comfortably. Handshakes and smiles in the Hobart camp - they were put under pressure tonight, but passed that test with flying colours!

Five in the ring

Doggett to David, 1 run, that is what he tries to do, but does not get the power he wants. Slaps this length ball outside off to long off, on the bounce

Just five needed now. David can finish it off with one strike

Doggett to David, SIX, David with another telling blow! Right in the slot outside off and that is bread and butter for David. Sits deep in his crease and smokes it over long on!

11 off 11. Back to run-a-ball

Doggett to David, no run, back of a length outside off. Comes off slower than David expects and he under-edges it towards the keeper. Another dot...

11 off 12. David on strike. Still very much the Hurricanes' game, but another quiet over here and who knows. Doggett to bowl

Thornton to Chaudhary, OUT, taken at mid off! Very similar to the previous two balls. In the slot and there to be hit. Chaudhary, though, does not get under it, nor does he get over it. Chips it rather tamely to Overton, who dives forward to his left and gobbles up the chance. Surely too little, too late now?

Thornton to Chaudhary, 1 run, back of a length on off. Chaudhary backs away and flays it towards deep cover point

Thornton to bowl out

Harry: "Hindsight is of course 20/20, but bowling Thornton and Overton in the power surge rather than the bowlers who'd been economical all night has cost the Strikers this game. All credit to Tim David though" -- They had a choice between trusting their spinners or going back to their pacers, which would seem the safer option. Tonight, it backfired horribly, though
