10:48pm And that will be all from us for this game. It was one for the ages, not in terms of being a contest, but just in terms of how special Maxwell was, and how he has made a habit of producing such knocks under immense pressure. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and we will be back with more BBL action soon. Until then, this is goodbye from Vairavan and myself. Take care!

Glenn Maxwell, Player of the Match: Just so glad we could get over the line. A lot of emotion going through when you are six or seven down and don't have many on the board. You start thinking if the season is done, such a wild night and happy to get the job done. (On looking exhausted towards the end) Slogging is hard, a lot more tiring than running between the wickets (smiles). The ground is extremely heavy, but I will be fine. I was pretty clear on what I wanted to do, how many balls I needed to target in the over. I knew if I could take it deeper, there would not be as much movement and I could cash in. (On hitting many more sixes than fours tonight) The outfield was a little slower, so I had to find a different way.

10:44pm A fairly convincing and one-sided victory in the end. Maxwell brought the Stars back from the brink and then Steketee starred with the ball, bagging his first five-wicket haul in the BBL. Paris was not shabby either and it was that pairing's new-ball showing that knocked the stuffing out of the Renegades, and they were unable to recover, like the Stars did.

A day the Renegades would want to forget. They were calling the shots half-way through the first innings but nothing went their way post that. Their batters struggled and failed to adapt to the conditions and they now need a lot of things to go their way if they are to make the playoffs.

Webster to O'Neill, OUT, that will be that! The Stars win the Melbourne Derby again, and they haul themselves into the top four! Full outside off. O'Neill tries to smash it into the top deck and mistimes it completely. Goes straight up and Duckett does the rest at mid wicket. Handshakes and embraces in the Stars camp - they were put under severe pressure but in the end, they have cantered to the finish line!

A slight delay because one of the zing bails continues to flicker

Webster to Richardson, 1 run, back of a length on off. Richardson skips down the track and slaps it to long off

Webster to Richardson, 2 runs, bowled off the Free hit again! Slower ball on a full length outside off. Richardson has a wild slog at it and chops it back onto his stumps. The ball rolls away, initially allowing a single. Harper then throws errantly at the bowler's end and concedes another

Webster to Richardson, 1 wide, bowls a wide now. Oh dear. Attempted wide yorker that sneaks beyond the tramlines. Richardson cannot fetch it and the umpire has to indulge in more exercise
