9.32pm That's all from today's game. Do join us for our coverage of the BBL tomorrow, when we have the first double-header of the season. Melbourne Stars are taking on Hobart Hurricanes at the MCG before Sydney Thunder square off against Adelaide Strikers at the Sydney Showground Stadium. This is Abhimanyu signing off on behalf of Shashank Kishore and Chandan Duorah.

Here's what Maddinson had to say about his Player-of-the-Match performance: "Obviously it's an innings I'm proud of. Started slow and picked up the tempo. That's something I have struggled with earlier, trying to hit too hard from early on. For me it's about playing good shots in the gaps. I decided today that I'd keep my shape and hit hard through the gaps. [On if his 100th BBL game could have gone better] A hundred would have been nice. With two overs to go, I thought I left 20 runs out there."

9.27pm Well, there we have it. Melbourne Renegades have pulled off an impressive 22-run victory here in Cairns. Their captain Nic Maddinson, playing his 100th BBL match, powered them to 166 with his brilliant knock of 87, despite wickets tumbling around him. Andre Russell also played his part, hitting 35. Then, Akeal Hosein got two early wickets and Heat never got back into the game since then.

Rogers to Bazley, OUT, Holes out to deep cover. Slower bouncer and he looked to slap it away inside out. Only manages to edge it and Fraser-McGurk makes no mistake as the innings ends as miserably for Brisbane Heat as it had started

Jack: "The Heat only have 2 gears, first and hell for leather. Thats the main problem they have"

Rogers to Bazley, 1 run, Length ball, nudged towards deep midwicket

Rogers to Bazley, 2 runs, Goes for the yorker, but just misses out on the length, and he drives this hard down the ground. Mackenzie Harvey, the sub fielder, does well to run to his right from long-off and dive to stop the boundary

Unless there are extras, Renegades now have this match in the bag

Rogers to Whiteley, 1 run, Full and wide, he moves across and can only drill it to long-off

Every ball needs to go for a boundary now if Heat want to win

Tom Rogers to bowl the final over. He needs to defend 30 here
