7:45pm That brings us to the end of our coverage for this game. We hope you enjoyed it and there is lots of action in store over the next few hours and days - all of which can be followed on ESPNcricinfo. Until next time, this is goodbye from all of us!
Jhye Richardson, Player of the Match: Obviously nice to start the season well. Traditionally, we have not started the way we would have wanted and have come back well later. Nice to get a win in front of the home crowd. We (as a bowling unit) have done it so well for so long. We all share it along. Someone chips in always and that is what we pride ourselves on. (On the crowd support) Makes a difference. We love our fans and it is awesome to be able to put on a show for them first up.
7:36pm Well, the Scorchers did that at a canter towards the end. They were pressed into action early, with Allen, Jennings and Hurst not getting many. Connolly, though, stood up, despite batting in an unfamiliar position. He soon found support from his skipper and that partnership truly knocked the wind out of the Stars' sails. Connolly could not finish off the job, but Turner was on hand, with Hobson also landing a few lusty blows to hasten the conclusion.
Not the best game the Stars will put together. They seemed a little short with the bat and their bowling, after a positive start, also fizzled out. Curran was probably their brightest spot, both with bat and ball, but apart from that, there was not a lot to shout home about.
Siddle to bowl what should be the last over of this game
