We're done for the day. I hope the company was enjoyable for all of you. Take care and please show up for the next game. I'm signing off on Binoy's and my behalf.
Player of the Match Daniel Sams: We're just being aggressive (Finishing the match). If we don't make the most of it, we will catch it up later. And then, as soon as (Poppey) came to bowl on that second last over, it was that kind of the over to take this one down and luckily that went better. (Hitting 31 runs) It's something I have actually worked on a lot. I was just trying to think about the next ball. Like obviously the context of the game, needing to get a lot of runs. I just try to be more focused on that one ball and the next ball. And try not to premeditate too much. (Winning start) Yeah, we already have the same squad (as in the last season). These are the kind of wins especially early on in the tournament that get you a long way. Being in a position where we probably should have cruised and then we are in a position as that ball it's going to be tough to win. Getting out of the line is really important, it's something we weren't quite able to do last year. So we are going to take a lot from this game. (Next Match) It's always good fun to play against those boys (Sydney Sixers). Personally, we can get on with them.
What a fantastic cricket match we saw at Canberra's Manuka Oval tonight! The youngster Konstas' outstanding innings of 56 runs off 27 balls put Thunder in a strong position to secure the match. Following his dismissal, Davies and Billings were gradually gaining ground in the run chase. The momentum changed in favour of the Adelaide Strikers with a few wickets here and there. On the 19th over, however, Daniel Sams encountered Lloyd Pope, three sixes and three fours, totalling 31 runs off the over. Fabian Allen, who had to leave the pitch after suffering a hamstring injury while preserving a boundary, was missed by the Strikers. Instead of sending Pope up against Sams at that time, they would have done better by deploying a quick bowler like Bazley on the 19th. The Presentation Ceremony will soon take place.
Sydney Thunder won the match by 2 wickets
Argho: "Ha ha ha I just missed the match only for one shot that was a boundary needed after 19 overs and I had immense belief in thunder. This thunder team is totally power packed lower order batting line up. "
