Scorer: K Vairavan | Commentator: Rashad Mahbub

That's all we've done today. Come join the BBL double header tomorrow. Happy New Year to all of you worldwide. I'm signing off on behalf of Vairavan, Rashad, and the entire ESPNcricinfo team.

Player of the Match Cooper Connolly: "Yeah, they fought back (Strikers) nicely with the bat at the end there. But I guess coming out late on the over and joining the chasing on 140, I think we're pretty happy at the halfway mark, and then yeah, to be pretty clinical was about, it was nice. Allen's had a bit of a tough start, but we know what he's capable of and he showed up tonight. Yeah, it's always nice to contribute. I just want to keep contributing and hopefully perform throughout this tournament and finish strongly. Yeah, it's a lovely week at the Adelaide Oval. Once the lights came out it was nice to bat on. Yeah, home for a couple of games, and then third of January, we play the Thunders at home, which would be nice."

Early in the game, the Scorchers were down two wickets in two overs as they began their batting. Hurst was dropped twice before getting caught at deep backward point. A couple of the catches were dropped early in the innings. Following that, however, Allen and Connolly settled down on the crease and forced the Strikers to shift out of the game. Allen and Overton sparred for a few angry words. Finn Allen blasted the ball all around the stadium with a brilliant knock of 50 runs off 23 balls. Allen's innings was complemented by the fireworks that were shown across the Adelaide Oval throughout the game. Connolly, who made 48 runs off 35 balls, has also shown himself to be dependable at the wicket. Turner later joined in and scored several fantastic shots through the on-side. He hit Boyce for two sixes and one four on the fifteenth to round off the game in style. After dominating the game, the Scorchers rose to the second spot in the standings. With one victory and four losses, the Adelaide Strikers are currently in seventh place in the standings, indicating that their tournament woes are far from over.
