SRH posted 286 batting first, but that was still not the IPL record. Last year, they posted 287, and this time fell only one short of their own record. But there were still plenty of highlights from a stats and numbers point of view. RR's batters tried their best in a mountain of a chase, so full points to them for competing and taking it as far as 242. The IPL, though, moves quickly. So further down south, there's CSK vs MI going on already. Join us for further action, but this is it from the first of the two games today. See you and take care!
Ishan Kishan is the Player of the Match: "To be very honest, the nervousness was there; I won't deny that. Pat and the coach gave a lot of cofidence. I just enjoyed my time in the middle. I was practising very hard. The preparation was very good, and I'm feeling confident. You can see Abhishek and Head playing that sort of game, and you get that confidence. Either you're batting way too early, or at a time when there are a lot of runs on the board. It's very difficult to get that sort of a total in every game. Pat and the coach are talking about enjoying, and saying 'just play your game'."
Pat Cummins: "Unbelievable. We get 280-odd, and it's scary. You know you're going to go for runs. You know it's going to be tough. When you have such a big score, one over can win it for your side. Ishan today was incredible. The preparation has been amazing. Our coaches have been fantastic. Everyone has come fit and firing."
Thanks Shashank. We have the Player of the Match and winning captain to speak.

Harshal Patel, who finished with 2 for 34, says: "Pretty happy with it, felt we were better with execution barring a few overs. Whatever we planned in the bowlers meeting, we were able to execute. When you have 290 on the board, the game becomes easier. The coaches don't believe too much in talking, initial chat was around how we can be defensive and complement our batting line-up. That's the way our batters like to play, aggressive and we complement by being defensive. There's a fine line to be honest, but it all depends on the contest of the game, there will be times we'll need to go hard at the stumps, bowl conventionally but 270-280 makes our job easier by making the opposition to do most of the work. It's tough as bowler here, don't remember any ground being easy for bowlers in IPL in last couple of years, wicket is true, ground is small and mindset of batters have changed significantly in alt couple of years, they're not afraid to take risks. Have to be on top of your game to execute well.
Riyan Parag: "Tough, as I'd expected. Credit to SRH, but we could've executed better. We'll sit down and chat on how we could do better. I feel collectively we took the decision to bowl, it was the right decision, we were neither here or there with the ball, could've done better. We could've restricted them a little letter, at toss I said 200 something like that, 220-240 would've been a good score to chase down. Some of the batters looked really great - Sanju bhaiyya, Shubham, Hettie. With the ball, Tushar, Sandeep - they bowled well. Wins or loss, we take the learnings and forget the result."
7.29pm Royals will look back and wonder if it was the right call to bowl. Riyan Parag insists it was. Looking back, maybe it's something for the other sides to keep in mind when they come up against SRH in Hyderabad. Head and Abhishek barnstormed their way at the top, Ishan Kishan sustained the onslaught to shellack a stunning maiden IPL century as SRH posted the second-highest team score in IPL history. Royals lost two early, but kept punching as Samson and Jurel kept them in the hunt. Then later, we saw Hetmyer and Dubey pummel some massive hits to make this the most runs tally in an IPL match. It could've been a lot worse for the Royals but they've done well to get this far.
