Sunrisers Hyderabad kept their bid for making the playoffs more than alive after their win over Kings XI Punjab
Scorer: Sanjay Murari | Commentator: Devashish Fuloria
Both teams came here looking for a much needed win - but Sunrisers now travel to Mumbai, while Kings XI travel to Dharamsala, different routes, different goals from here on.. Thanks for all your comments and feedback. Devashish Fuloria signing off. Ciao ciao.
Cameron White: "It has been the tale of our season, fighting, scrapping away, then bowl well to win this. Parthiv saw the innings through, then Perera put the icing on the cake. It was pretty even, but we need to bowl well in the first six and with Steyn, who are likely to do that. We still need to keep winning as many games as possible."
Parthiv Patel is the Man of the Match:"I was told to 15-16 overs, and I wasn't worried about run rate. It was skidding from one end and was damp at the other, was a difficult wicket to bat on. We wanted to get to 130 for our bowlers to have a chance. Then Thisara came in and hit those sixes, that is why it was important for me to stick around till then. If we can score 150-160 every time, we can beat any side.'
Adam Gilchrist: "Parthiv played very well on a wicket that did a little bit. Thisara came around and then changed it with a couple of big hits. The wicket firmed up a bit when we came around, and we should have been able to get this, but we lost a lot of wickets. Shaun came in and attacked from the start and me and him had a good partnership going, but we lost out way after that. We would like to be party spoilers from now on"
Thisara Perera gets an award for hitting two sixes, he also gets an award for being innovative thinker by running out R Sathish.
Aravinth: "why can't they give MoM to two players? If patel did well in the batting Sammy definitely did well in the bowling, one gets the award and the other's performance goes unnoticed. Unfair.."
Moin: "It unfair to bash Pomersbach. It was not easy pitch. The pitch was on a pretty slow side and the Sunrisers medium pacers were good with with changes in variation."
Varun: "What a fighting knock by Pomersbach. Last wicket has hung on and they have secured a thrilling draw !"
Ankit Bhutoria: "Today also 130 would have been enough for SRH as KXIP only managed 120 in their quota of 20 overs."
