The match has been officially abandoned. Temperature is only 4˚C - coldest I've know in my 23 years in Hong Kong.

Forecast is better for tomorrow although no game is on but hopefully that will dry things out for the one-day game on Tuesday. After that, prospects for the rest of the week also don't look good.

Until next time it's good bye form all of us here.

Day 3

Rain continued to pound the ground all day yesterday and there is no prospect of play today. The ground is completely waterlogged and the temperature has dropped to 9˚C.

The umpire have had their inspection and decided to abandon play for the day. No second thoughts there.

Day 2 09:57 am - Hello and welcome to our day 2 coverage, I am afraid the news is not good today morning as well. We have add steady drizzle till now, some effort being made to remove the covers now.

The umpires are out in the middle for an inspection. The ground is very wet however and prospects of play any time soon are remote.

10:25 am - It has started to Drizzle again and it's getting heavier by the minute. looks ominous...

12:29 Drizzle has turned to showers here

12:50 Heavy rain, this should rule out any chance of play today, if there was any

12:55 That's it for the day...play has been called off. We'll be aiming for an 0900 start tomorrow. Hopefully we will get some play in tomorrow.

Day 1

Welcome from the Mission Road Ground where all is in readiness for the first official First Class game to be played in Hong Kong. The home side take on Scotland in the inaugural Braidwood Cup series, which will also include the results of the two World Cricket League and two Twenty20 International fixtures scheduled next week. Hong Kong are in fourth position on the Intercontinental Cup ladder after their victory over the UAE last November, while Scotland are still looking for their first win.

Conditions have improved slightly overnight, no rain at the moment but the ground is quite wet. No news on a possible start time yet.

09:30am: Umpires will make another inspection at 10am, 30 minutes from now but there's no change to the overhead conditions so not optimistic of a start anytime soon.

10:10am: No change, next inspection at 11:00am.

11:00am: Overhead and ground conditions haven't changed. It's a still, grey day. There will a further inspection at 12:30PM. The covers are off (as they have been since 0800) but there's no wind or sun to dry the wet areas around the wicket block. Some of the Hong Kong players have ventured into the nets for a hit.

Lunch taken. Plenty of activity on the field but no prospect of any play for the moment.

1:30pm: Officials are inspecting the ground again. But it doesn't look like there's been any improvement since the previous inspection. Low, misty cloud now hanging around the ground. Forecast for the next couple of days not looking great. Temperatures are set to drop to 7˚C by Sunday.

1:40pm: The players are keeping themselves amused in various ways... some of the Scotland players are kicking a football around while others are playing cards. A further decision will be taken at 2:30pm.

2:40pm:Play has been called off for today. Play will start at the earlier time of 09:00am tomorrow if conditions improve.
