Scorecard

Namibia took control of their Intercontinental Cup match against Kenya as Craig Williams hit 140 to guide them to 343 for 4 which was already a lead of 39.

Making the most of good batting conditions, Namibia replied to Kenya's 304 at a brisk pace built around a third-wicket stand of 192 between Williams and the captain Sarel Burger. Williams struck 16 fours and three sixes in his 10th first-class hundred and ended just four short of his career best when he became Nelson Odhiambo's second wicket shortly after the lead was secured.

Nehemiah Odhiambo had made the first breakthrough of the innings while the other scalp went to legspinner Collins Obuya who removed Burger for 85 but on the whole Kenya struggled to maintain control. Gerrie Snyman ensured there was let-up, reaching a run-a-ball half-century in the final over of the day when he struck Hiren Varaiya for six.

Earlier, Kenya's innings had been wrapped up inside four overs with the last three wickets offered precious little resistance. Varaiya did not add to his overnight score and Louis Klazinga wrapped up the innings to finish with 3 for 56. Including the dismissal of century-maker Tanmay Mishra, late on the first day, Kenya's last four wickets fell for 10 runs.
