END OF OVER:
20 | 5 Runs 3 Wkts | BH: 119/10 (5 runs required, RR: 5.95)

  • Nathan Hauritz0 (2b)
  • Marchant de Lange4-0-13-3
  • Morne Morkel4-0-26-1

So that is it from the first game, the next match will begin in just under 30 minutes, so tune in to the live commentary for that one. For now, this is Rohan Sharma saying good night, and good luck.

Marchant de Lange, Man of the Match: Very enjoyable. A bit like back home so felt comfortable. A little bit of nerves there, but yeah the main key was to stay calm and do the basics right.

Henry Davids, Titans captain: A bit close there. The wickets cost us a lot of momentum (in the first innings). They guys kept putting the ball in the good areas and we ended up on top today.

Hang in there for the post-match presentation, with quotes from the captains.

What did I tell you? I told you we were in for a cracker, and Brisbane and Titans did not fail to deliver. Initially, it looked like the Titans would lose, especially with the sub-par total they eventually fronted up. However, Davids was judicious with his bowling changes, and kept Brisbane guessing till the very end. Narrow victory for the Titans, as they hold on by just four runs. De Lange was the star of the show for them with the ball, as he bowled with pace and hostility in his earlier spell, before bowling a terrific final over to see his team through. Brisbane are in some trouble now, with two losses out of two.

19.6
W
de Lange to McDermott, OUT, full and on middle and it's all over. De Lange is the hero as he makes a mess of McDermott's stumps. Terrific ball under pressure

AC McDermott b de Lange 2 (2m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

5 needed off the final ball. Are we in for a Miandad finish? Or is a Super-Over in the prospects?

19.5
2
de Lange to McDermott, 2 runs, full and on leg stump. McDermott able to squeeze this square on the leg side
19.4
1lb
de Lange to Hauritz, 1 leg bye, full and outside off as Brisbane get another leg-bye
19.3
1lb
de Lange to McDermott, 1 leg bye, on the pads and the pair scamper for a quick single
19.2
W
de Lange to Hauritz, OUT, short ball and Hauritz, who backs away to try and hit it over the keeper, is unable to get anything on it. He goes for the single though, as his partner is scrambling to make the run, but Gale is short of his ground when the keeper runs down the striker's end

MG Gale run out 1 (8m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

And with that, it is time for Nathan Hauritz at No. 10

19.1
W
de Lange to Sabburg, 1 run, OUT, full toss on middle and Sabburg flicks this to midwicket, immediately setting off for the single. He wants two, however, and that is the fatal mistake as is well short of his ground when the throw from the deep by Roelof reaches Mosehle, the keeper, who whips off the bails, and Hau

CJM Sabburg run out 19 (10m 7b 2x4 1x6) SR: 271.42

So 10 needed off the final over, and it is that man, De Lange, who will attempt to break Brisbane's heart

END OF OVER:
19 | 10 Runs 1 Wkt | BH: 114/7 (10 runs required from 6 balls, RR: 6.00, RRR: 10.00)

  • Chris Sabburg18 (6b)
  • Matthew Gale1 (2b)
  • Morne Morkel4-0-26-1
  • David Wiese4-0-34-1
18.6
1
Morkel to Sabburg, 1 run, full delivery on the leg stump, Sabburg turns it to square leg and keeps strike
18.5
6
Morkel to Sabburg, SIX, oops, commentator's jinx. Full delivery on the leg stump and Sabburg heaves this over midwicket for a six. No one expected this, especially with Morne firing them in

Good over so far, with just three runs in four balls...

18.4
1b
Morkel to Gale, 1 bye, full delivery, just outside off, as Gale tries to land a bat on it, but ends up carrying through to the keeper

Senthil: "How Morne Morkel will bowl his last over will decide the outcome of this match, since he can be erratic or absolutely unplayable as well, who is going to turn now?"

18.3
1
Morkel to Sabburg, 1 run, full and well wide of off stump as Sabburg sticks his bat out to get a run
18.2
1
Morkel to Gale, 1 run, length ball and wide of off stump as Gale is able to cut this away to sweeper cover

And Matthew Gale, who took a four-for on T20 debut earlier, walks into the cauldron

18.1
W
Morkel to Hartley, OUT, bowled him! Hartley goes for the mow straight down the ground, and Morne nails the off stump. Some added suspense to this encounter with the wicket falling in the late overs

CD Hartley b Morkel 7 (10m 5b 1x4 0x6) SR: 140.00

The experienced Morne Morkel comes in to limit the damage. 20 needed of 12.

END OF OVER:
18 | 15 Runs 1 Wkt | BH: 104/6 (20 runs required from 12 balls, RR: 5.77, RRR: 10.00)

  • Chris Sabburg10 (3b)
  • Chris Hartley7 (4b)
  • David Wiese4-0-34-1
  • Roelof van der Merwe4-0-20-1
17.6
4
Wiese to Sabburg, FOUR, Wiese is losing the plot as Sabburg clips him once again down the pads for a second consecutive boundary
17.5
4
Wiese to Sabburg, FOUR, full and going down the pads. Sabburg simply helps this on its way to the fine leg boundary. This is turning out to be a good over for the Heat
17.4
2
Wiese to Sabburg, 2 runs, short ball and Sabburg pulls this to the leg side for a couple

Chris Sabburg walks in at No. 8. Wiese going round the wicket again

17.3
W
Wiese to Lynn, OUT, full toss slower ball and Lynn can do no better than find Roelof at deep extra-cover. This one could have been drilled anywhere. Wonder how much this will affect the chase?

CA Lynn c van der Merwe b Wiese 14 (20m 17b 1x4 0x6) SR: 82.35

Going back over to Lynn

17.2
1
Wiese to Hartley, 1 run, full and on middle and Hartley able to flick this square on the leg side

Wiese coming round the wicket now to Hartley

17.1
4
Wiese to Hartley, FOUR, length ball, which just enough room to cut away on the off stump, as Hartley is able to hit it right of cover for a boundary. Much needed runs here for Heat

So 35 required off 18. Could be a real nail-biter now. And Wiese is on to bowl his final over

END OF OVER:
17 | 6 Runs 1 Wkt | BH: 89/5 (35 runs required from 18 balls, RR: 5.23, RRR: 11.66)

  • Chris Lynn14 (16b)
  • Chris Hartley2 (2b)
  • Roelof van der Merwe4-0-20-1

And of course, all the Hopes puns have to come through... ajit: "Brisbane "HOPES" are Gone"

16.6
2
van der Merwe to Lynn, 2 runs, full and wide and Lynn is able to squirt it to deep extra-cover
16.5
1
van der Merwe to Hartley, 1 run, back of a length on off stump which Hartley is able to clip through the leg side

RoshanKoirala: "Titans Turning The Track"

16.4
1
van der Merwe to Lynn, 1 run, speared in on the leg side and this time Lynn is able to get it away to long off
16.3
0
van der Merwe to Lynn, no run, Lynn tries to work this quicker delivery square on the off side, but finds the fielder
16.2
1
van der Merwe to Hartley, 1 run, full and just outside off as Hartley works this away to midwicket

Chris Hartley walks in at No. 7

16.1
W
van der Merwe to Hopes, OUT, The first time Hopes times a ball after a long time, unfortunately, he hits it straight to the man at long off. Big wicket for the Titans as Hopes looked destined to play a captain's knock
