7.05 pm Hurricanes have got their first points in the Champions League after losing their first game. They are well in this competition now. For Cobras, they have lost two out of two and are on the brink of elimination. Cobras were unlucky because they lost offspinner Dane Piedt to injury but it was their seasoned seamers that got hammered in the end.
Cobras captain Justin Ontong says they were ahead of the game for 80% but that crucial no-ball made the difference. "Can't afford that," he says. Ontong says he thinks Piedt has dislocated his shoulder but he isn't sure.
Ben Dunk says it was a good wicket to bat on, especially against the new ball. He says the Cobras spinners made it really hard, but credits Blizzard for the way he stayed the course.
Ben [not Dunk]: "Blizzards last 42 runs came of 17 balls, he was 36 off 31 after 15 overs."
perplexed: "saw 'this over is killing the contest' at 16.5 overs. when i come back it is all over, but not how i was expecting. crikey. doug and ben are not as rubbish as it seemed 90 minutes ago."
Hurricanes captain, Tim Paine: "Terrific batting, Ben started our innings very well and Blizz played very well .... we were disappointed the way we started and finished with the ball, but we back Dougie and Ben to bounce back."
Aiden Blizzard is the Man of the Match, obviously. "It was great to bat deep, to have Johnny wells who is a very cool head. Great to get win on the board. We struggled through the middle against spin, but when the quicks came back on it was now or never. Their spinners bowled extremely well ...Wells played a great cameo. We're up and about now ... very confident."
Right, that's it from me for this game, stay tuned for Kolkata Knight Riders v Lahore Lions up next. Toss for that one in 10 minutes. Cheers
Mridul Shandily: "The problem for Cobras here is that they don't really have anyone to turn up to bowl the last over! It will either be the rookie Mgijima who has bowled only 1 over or Philander again!" It might not go that far.
Following Hobart Hurricanes' first win of the tournament, opener Ben Dunk praised the match-winning contribution of Aiden Blizzard
A match that had slowly been tipping into the Cape Cobras' hands was wrested away and Hurricanes hurtled to victory with one over to spare
